I'm in a position to buy a few things that I can't normally get where I live, and I was wondering if Laxatone is the kind of thing that's good to keep on hand or if something like Vaseline does basically the same thing. Any opinions out there?

Laxatone is basically just petroleum jelly mixed with mineral oil and sugary flavoring. Some of my cats like the flavor and will lick it off my finger, others won't touch it. I think you would get similar results with plain petroleum jelly or mineral oil for much less money.

The Laxatone Natural doesn't have petroleum jelly in it, instead it's made of soybean oil, veg oil and Cod liver oil. I haven't tried that one out, so I don't know how well it works or if it is tasty.

I have never kept Laxatone on hand.  What are you thinking you would want it for?

One of my cats had a bout of constipation a couple of weeks ago and I had to give him a laxative. Since I saw Laxatone in the store the other day I thought maybe it would be worth having on hand for just in case, that's all. I'll just stick with petroleum jelly.
Thanks for the advice!
