my mom got me a kitten when he was 9 weeks old

Hi, Here I wanna to give a story about my first cat then next 2nd cat  

When I was talk to my mom about the cat that I want have one .. I was rather want dog but in my apartment was not allow have dog it got me disappointed but allow to have small cats till my mom heard from my sister's friend give away the kittens so my mom took last one kitten in last minutes and gave me and love it that when he was 6 weeks old .. yeah it was too young 6 weeks old to ready go home but my mom and I just did took care of it till turned out went fine after 6 weeks old ..his name was Jasper and I love him for long time till find out got me so upset that he got bladder infection that got me dont know how he got that from even vet dont know how he got infection bladder came from .. Jasper was super fine with no problem for 4 yrs till I saw him went under my bed and something wrong I picked him up and sound not right his went meow so loud as I hear him .. yes Im deaf but can hear with my hearing aids .. I hear him loudly MEOW!! I knew something wrong with him that he was in pain so took him to vet right away and find out he have worse bladder infection it shocked me and got me so upset and vet tried to unblock his unrine for 2 or 3 hours and nothing work cant fix it and it got me so upset to put him sleep .. yes I was cried alots cause I miss him so much and he was so smart guy know how to high five,know how to not eat my food, when i call his name and he came to me all the times, sleep with me beside my legs when I go bed, he hate chocolate refused to eat chocolate and peanut butter, he is act like a DOG! he hate cat toys lol he LOVES! dog toys no kidding lol and much more that he is so SMART!!!!! now I miss him .. he was passed away in 2011 then later in few weeks my mom got me ANOTHER! kitten so cute! now his name is Meeko .. he is so healthy but his teeth tatar build up vet told me brush his teeth, and new food to clean up his teeth yes he have little red on gum as stage 1 now .. so I start to brush his teeth hope so it go away  

I gotta share you my first cat Jasper (passed away) and now Meeko let me share

I am not sure what kind of food was Jasper used to eating?
Be careful cjocolate (and sweets) is very harmful for cats.

In order to take best of care of Meeko, I suggest browsing the site (and the net) to learn the most about cat care amd specially about appropriate foods for cats.


A blader infection could be derived from the food or dehydration or parasites or maby otger things. I suggest to may best attention to Meeko's diet.

Also, feel free to start a thread in the cat care section of the forum and ask cat lovrrs for advise about your cat's diet if needed.


Losing a cat can be very ahrd. JAPSER was sooooo beautiful!

Hi, welcome to TCS!  It's so nice to meet you.  I am sorry about Jasper. He was a beautiful cat.   

I'm happy for Meeko that he has you to care for him.

Jasper was fine eat without trouble till it start after one day cause I see him under my bed something wrong hmm .. I feed him "Speical Kitty"  it have no flouvor (spelling )  and I give him water everyday hmm dont know


 at first I feed my cat Meeko was Speical Kitty till saw his gum hmm not right so took him to vet and ahhhhh vet said he is allgeric to special kitty so I change to cat chow purina with no problem feel better till another gum hmm took him vet again and ahhh build up tartar so vet gave me yeah have to pay dry food bag from vet $$$$ oh boy im not that kind rich person but had to cause vet said it will clean his teeth so now he is on Royal Canin now and yes he is on diet too ..

djoe: Oh yeah I know cats are not allow eat chocolate same with dogs ... I was surprised that Jasper just sniff smell and dislike it refused eat chocolate that I left my chocolate on my desk and he refused eat wow what a smart!! LOL 

so I just testing on Meeko to make sure if he like or not .. if he like it then I have to put away chocolate so he will not able to eat it .. if he dislike it then I wouldnt worry about it  so I did testing from my chocolate pudding and he was just sniff and I caught him that his tongue was out of his mouth and almost lick so I took my chocolate pudding away very QUICK!!!! so now I know he like chocolate so I have to put away not let him eat it  

nurseangel: thanks .. yeah I took care of him .. I wont let that happened same like my first Jasper not want be same so I want my Meeko to keep healthy . yes Im very check on Meeko not want happened with Jasper  like worry

Royal Canin is the best. Use it for a while (as long a syou can afford it) and when you cant pay for that, Friskies is half th le price, and more or less Okay. My lucy has bren on friskies all her life, she doeant like any other brand and never had digestive problems.

I also suggest you give him some wet food from time to time..like fanvy feast (not cheap, sorry) or Le chat or Friskies.... these are all brands with actual meat in them, rather than being filled with gelly and startvh, which wouldn't be ideal.

Ahhh..you might know all that already. ..

Meeko!by the way,I realised that lucy is nto a oersan. She is a maine coon!! After 13 years lol..I feel dumb

 I might have to bring meeko to vet on wed now he has not much go washroom something going on so I hope so he is okay but will have to call vet on wed morning .. I called today vet and she said keep eyes on him and I told her okay i will keep eyes on him if not then I will call on wed morning .. hope he is okay 

I just notice it that he just more rest like sleep lots , i dont see him washroom much just rare like last friday has not poo just rare pee that it make me something wrong with him hmm till finally he just had small poo last night 1:30am then again not poo today hmm I was talked to my mom and she said my cat is fine nothing wrong and he will poo on his own so he did poo last night .. I just want my cat to make sure he is okay .. yes vet said he is healthy last week tues but I notice him something wrong so I just want him have be doing okay that is all .. yeah meeko is healthy yes but want make sure he is ok cause I notice him werid dunno .. he does eat well just like eat then later eat then later eat then later not one eat all of them no .. he does drink some not lots no .. he does playing when I bring string let him play to catch very well but I dont know why he doesnt much go washroom hmm not sure whats going on that is all

Check his tummy...is it hard?
Os he drinking wnough water? And having wet food? (Dry food alone can cause constipation).

Check that there si no hard lumps in his tummy...

It can be just simple constipation because cats at home dont get to clean up their intestine with grass like they do in the wild... the vet might give him some cat probiotics..


I would definitely take hom to the vet too, but in the meantime make sure he is drinking.

vet did check his tummy last week tues and he said it healthy so thats why I will talk to vet about it hope bring meeko to vet on wed something wrong not know why .. i have keep eyes on him

I mean I called vet today and she said ok keep eyes on him and I told her ok I will keep eyes on him if not then I will call back on wed morning and she said okay thats all 

How is Meeko today?

He is doing good and very playful last night lol .. he eat well and drink well too .. he did finally poo last Oct 27,28, and today but still small I wasnt sure if it is normal small poo .. I will have to call vet to ask some questions today

 Oh I bring my cat to washroom and yeah I just close the door not want him escape cause I need him to go washroom so I stay in washroom too and I put him in litter box to show him where poo is so he sniff his poo then in few sec maybe like 40 to 60 secs and it did poo!! and I said to him good boy! and then I opened the door and he happy run off lol He is doing good boy

Okay I called vet about Meeko's poo and she said its normal poo that I told that he just poo last sunday night, monday, tues and today .. vet said as long as Meeko did eat good and drink good.. Meeko did good eat and drink  

Meeko is doing GREAT! he did playful last night play with his fave toy.. I was laugh so hard!! cause he pick up his squeak mouse by his mouth and throw in that high the air LOL Lmao!

 I noticed it my cat Meeko's nose look different not same with other so must be he is same as his mom's nose

Peach and Meeko have different nose shape must be Peach's nose is like her daddy and Meeko's nose is like his mommy .. Peach and Meeko's parents Mommy is Siamese and daddy is Tabby

 no they havent meet their parents cat .. their cats' parents are in Niagara Falls, Ontario .. peach and Meeko are live in St.Catharines, Ontario
