So having felt that things were on track with my two youngest cats, no squinty eyes, no sneezing, adjusted fantastic to new diet now my older guy has yucky eyes! Yoshi was a stray I took in about 4 years ago. Clearly he had been someone's pet, sooo affectionate. He was in hard shape when he appeared in my driveway on a snowy November night. Fleas, worms, missing part of his tail and a tooth, thin coat, skinny with a swollen belly, poor guy! Some meds and a neuter and some house training helped him become a fantastic house cat. He has been amazingly healthy up to this. He has always been a bit of a loud breather, but it was no concern. Today I noticed both his eyes had goop, yellow goop in both eyes and although I cleaned it, it came back quickly. His third eyelid looked white and fantastic today but now looks a bit pink and angry. I'm a little concerned bc I have noticed he has lost a little weight recently. I had attributed it to a healthier diet. He was way over weight at 17 lbs anyways, and I'm sure he probably still is. I've also noticed he doesn't jump up to one of his fav spots as often anymore. But maybe I'm just being paranoid :) he is thought to be somewhere between 7-10 years old. I called the vet and we decided to get him checked out tomorrow. His appointment is at 4 pm, but I won't be able to pick him up until about 7. My clinic has a drop off service which is great since I won't be able to stay since my oldest son has an occupational therapy appointment at 5 quite a distance away! Please send healthy vibes to my big boy, I call him my jungle cat..lol..he is a very loved guy.

Just heard from the vet, no ulcers, seems to be just a simple eye infection. She said he is happy and ready to come home. So ointment for 7 days and hope that that's the end of it!! Fingers crossed :) He weighs 16 lbs....eek! He has lost about 1 lb. Hopefully on the new diet of grain free, little to no fish and primarily wet food he will continue to work towards a more healthy weight. Much to my relief last might he was running around and playing. Pretty good for an older guy! When my babies are happy, I'm happy :)Now I only have to worry about my 10 year old son, he is going through a rough time because of ADHD and learning disabilities. We start a new therapy this evening. Wish us luck, he is a great kid, fantastic sense of humor.
