I've been looking for a supplement containing probiotics with s. boulardi that my Mummer will like. Not sure if her diarrhea issues are from an external introduction of clostridium bacteria (foul smell acute illness) or beginning IBS condition with clostridium a normal bowl bac. for her. Slide exam of fecal sample showed rod but not huge amount but illness was already abating at that time. She eats only canned food which has corrected an bladder problem but now having  intermittant "poop" problems . Could be resurgence of encapsulated C.bac or IBS/ allergy. Because I am away for weeks and have others tending my cats I don't want to try raw diet or complicated feedings . I was wondering if anyone has tried the " I and Love and You" Super Powder and if their cats liked the taste? It has the ingredients that I want with anti-inflammatory products and the s.boulardi to control the clostridium. Have already bought s. boulardi capsules that now have turned her against anything in a Pill Pocket!

I haven't heard of that one or heard any reviews of it, but the Nexabiotic 19 strain contains S. boulardii and is palatable to cats. We have a few members here who have tested it on their cats. It's available on Amazon if you can't find it locally.

Gosh, I didn't even know they HAD this product.  A full teaspoon is quite a bit to add to their food, so i just don't know...one time I bought Mercola's Pet Probiotics (obviously a different product), and it required quite a bit on their food, and NONE of my furkids even got used to the taste, even though I started out small and tried to  increase the dosage.  I finally ended up giving it to my dog friends

I saw the post about the Nexabiotic but there were reviews saying some of the info on the site was bogus and got the feeling the company might be unreliable, I saw the Super Powder info while  researching canned cat food companies on the Petco site.I give it a try and see if she likes it.It won't be the first time I've had to rehome a product if not. I give her the Vermont Pet Nuturals UT support chewable but this supplement has some of those ingredients also so I may be able to discontinue it or rotate.

Nexabiotic is not bogus. My four cats had Clostridium and I use Nexabiotic as a maintenance for them- it works well and it is palatable.
I treated them for a month with Jarrow Sacharomyces Boulardii first, and that is definitely a wonderful probiotics that REALLY worked; however the cats hated it.
I switched to Nexabiotic and they all continue do do well.
I can only testify for my experience, but that is of 4 cats who were recovering from toxic Clostridium perfringens. If it worked for all of them, I am comfortable to say bogus it isn't.

I meant that perhaps the company was less than reliable in their marketing  but have heard good things about the product. I am still waiting for the " I and Heart and You" "super Powder'" because UPS lost my Petco order! Petco said they would investigate but wouldn't send me a replacement order until they checked with UPS. Since UPS closed on weekends I reorderd and now waiting again and charged for 2 orders. The powder has other substances in it that aren't in the Nexabiotic so I want to try it.Can't find any reviews about it.Tried Natures Variety Instinct Rockstar Rabbit and cat really likes it so will try a novel limited ingredient protein too.Trying to avoid potato starch and Soulistic Cat is simialr to her favorite Weruva  Chicken but she doesn't like the ones with tapioca.I am leary about leaving canned food out too long since she had the clostrium problem so when I am away I'm going to supplement her canned food with Nat. Var. Limited ingredient rabbit dry even though I hate the idea of not all wet food. I have tried freezing the canned food to leave out and not spoil as fast but you don't know when she will actually eat it over the 24 hours. My sitters can only come once a day and I'll be gone for 5 weeks.Don't want diarrhea issues, ect especially then. They say when you get older you can become obsessed with "poop" issues.Didn't say it would be cat poop!
