Hello,

I just noticed my kitten (8 months) was at my feet  sleeping and he was breathing really hard and fast. It doesn't seem normal for him to be breathing that fast at a resting state. Also when I picked him up it seems like there was a lot of noise (can't explain) in his chest while he was breathing hard :(

Please any comment?

Otherwise he is perfectly healthy!

Thanks.

Sarah

Has he been seen by the vet since you have had him?

I wouldn't take chances with breathing problems.  If he were mine, I would be making an appointment today.  If it is a problem, these things can go from bad to worse very fast.

I certainly do not want to alarm you, but I lost a kitty to heart disease very quickly after diagnosis. She was only 2 years old.

For your peace of mind and your kitties health, please have him checked out asap.

@farleyv, Carl has been to the vet for his shots and he had ear mites when we first got him. My little brother got him off Kijiji. So he has seen the vet a handful of times since he was 8 weeks and the vet never mentioned anything about his breathing. That's a good thing right?
I will make a appointment for tomorrow I'm so worried. I recently changed his food and he seemed to be allergic or bothered by it but I have changed him back. Do you think that has anything to do with his fast breathing?

Thanks,
Sarah
