Husband passed in May and we had to move. We have 3 cats  and a old dog and I cannot afford all of them anymore on my income. On top of that our community will only allow 2 animals but I did get a medical letter to keep three. I am keeping the older two cats and dog that are all 10 yrs old (got all 3 the same day) . However the one that has the best chance of finding a great home is BoBo who is only 4. My question is this? Where do I look? Forget Craigs list. I live in phoenix and I've heard of horror stories. I am willing to donate to a home or rescue if I can find the right place. Did I know the pet laws yes. But I had to  move. Husband had Alzheimer disease and it left me pretty broke and we had to move out. Please someone help me find a solution.

I was in a similar situation many years ago and had to quickly find homes for 11 puppies. What to do??? I decided to pack them all in the back of the pickup truck and find a really nice neighborhood shopping center...(the more affluent). These were Chow and Akita mix (Chakita) puppies. I packed them all individual bags of food with a toy and treats to give away with each puppy. Plus people knowing they've been fixed and had their shots is a plus too.

It took me less than an hour to find homes for all of them. Of course you can't screen the person wanting them this way, but if you go to the better neighborhood shopping centers and place a heart warming note with a plea to capture people's hearts...you will find homes and people who will take them quickly. Actually...even screening people doesn't always work either, so I think it's worth the effort.

Just a thought...it worked for me. Hope this helps and you find good homes for all of them.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It is difficult when circumstances change, and it sounds like you are doing the best you can. Craig's List is an option. You just need to be very careful screening people. You can ask for a rehoming fee or a donation to a charity in the cat's name. Ask for vet references.

You can also ask to put flyers up at your local vets, and ask the vets if they know of someone who can help. There may be available foster homes so also ask around at cat shelters and rescues. Many vibes that you find a home for him.
