Does anyone know why Amazon won't ship certain things up here from the .com site?

l've ordered successfully from both .com and .ca, but certain items from .com say they cannot be shipped here.

And these aren't duplicates of something on the Cdn site that we'd pay more for up here - if they were available on the .ca l'd happily pay more for them. But they aren't available here, and can't be shipped from the US. How frustrating.

I have the same problem.  Drives me crazy. I don't understand the logistics of it either.

Sometimes there are links to some new or used items, and some of those will ship to Canada.

probably because us likes to restrict some items and maybe canada dont want us items shipped in from the us

and amazon partially blocked my moms account now we cant order -_- come on amazon

Depending on the item (book, film, album), the release dates may differ. For others, there might be "authorized dealers" in your country other than Amazon or its third-party dealers in the marketplace. Import restrictions might apply, although NAFTA should have eliminated most of them.

Andrya, is it something I can get and ship to you? I'd do that, if we could. Most of the time, I can get free shipping to here, but then you'd have to pay to have it shipped from me to you.

This time, l found the equivalent main item on Ebay and bought it there. l can't see it being in any way restricted, it's pretty benign, and it's a SS gift so l can't say what it is. Of the three items l tried to buy off Amazon, 2 or them could not be sent to my address, but the third could, so l didn't order any - and all 3 were Amazon-shipping, not other-company (some are domestic only, some offer international).

l know there are some restrictions on imports, eg. a pair of shoes l tried to buy for work, they're Gels, and apparently whatever the sole contains cannot be shipped. But in this case, all 3 were very benign items, l'm flummoxed.
