Has he been traumatized by the pain prior to surgery?? And is wellness ok to feed him rather than prescription? Will he eat the wet food if he's hungry enough? Lol. He's so use to eating when he wants on dry and wet twice daily. Now it's backwards!

I would say he very well could still be associated his litter box with the pain prior to surgery.  you might need to cat some Cat Attract litter to bring him back to the box.  Or try putting pee pads in there first, without ANY litter, to see if that helps.  If he will start going into the box at all, then you could gradually start adding back in the litter.

As far as the food, what was he prescribed?  Maybe this thread will help: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/266411/alternatives-to-urinary-so-food

I've never had a cat with stones or blockages, but from what I've heard, you need to try to reduce their stress as much as possible, and increase their water intake.  So whatever you feed him, I would think it should be canned, and I would even dilute it with additional water.  Now, in answer to the question of will he eat if if he's hungry enough, the answer if "not necessarily".  And you cannot let him go too long without eating something, or you may have a bigger problem on your hands.

What do you mean "now it's backwards" when he used to eat wet twice a day?  Is that prescription feed DRY?

Thank you so much for answering! He is actually going to his litter a lot more now. We took the top off and made it more inviting. It is amazing to me that he can experience such trauma and remember what happened because he even has a hard time going under our bed where before it was his refuge. During that time he went under there because he was in extreme pain and now he has no urge whatsoever. I had a feeling that that was just a saying. But if he didn't like something he would not eat it after a day and a half. So I went to a specialty pet store and was able to get canned food that he really likes. Yes, the vet tech said no stress and it's hard w a toddler but we've been doing good and keeping her outside! And long naps, lol.
Before surgery I fed him a cup or more of dry at his leisure and canned morning and night. Now I feed him maybe a handful of kibble and 3 small cans of wet!
