I'm knew and wanted to share this wonderful story about a kitty that found me and my husband recently.

For a couple days we had both heard this kitty outside our home meowing, but when we went to investigate, we saw nothing. One evening the hubby heard it again, so he looked out of the front door only to see this kitty crying and staring back at him. He went and got some kitty food and put it out on the front porch for him and he began eating as if he was starved and he was.

Next morning Judy had left for school and then I came downstairs to have some coffee. The next thing I saw was this beautiful fluffy silvery gray kitty sitting inside of our big bay window in the house! I was so surprised and figured he must have got in when Judy opened the door to leave for school.

He was so very thin and obviously starved. I picked him up only to find that he was simply skin stretched over his bones. I began to cry thinking how could anyone abandon such a lovely kitty and began to hold him and hug him. His little head just fell on shoulder as if he barely had enough strength in him to hold it up. Tears just ran down my face as I held him.

I simply looked at him and said...you're home now baby...you'll never be hungry, lonely or unloved ever again.

Although we do have five other kitties...this one has captured the inner most place in my heart. I named him Surry, short for surprise. He's putting on some weight now and getting his strength back. We've got all of the ticks and fleas off of him and he's just beautiful. He's the most loving creature. He just seems to understand my love for him. He's with me all of the time now and follows me everywhere. We can tell he's a young kitty, probably about only a year or so old.

Here's the mystery folks...how did he know our house would be the one to come to? We live in the suburbs with many houses on the street, yet we heard this little fella outside for days before he actually revealed himself to us. How did he know? I know my neighbors and we're probably the only ones who would have taken him in and love him the way we do. Did an angel lead him to us? We don't know, but what we do know is that Surry seems to have known somehow which house to come to...amazing isn't it.

He made himself right at home with us and the other kitties. The other kitties seemed to accept him right off the bat as if he'd always been here. He just seems to belong with us and is as if he's always been with us somehow.

Strange as this may seem...I do believe that the Lord watches over these little ones as much as people. We are in love with our Surry and he's been a blessing to our home too.

I hope you enjoyed this story of Surry, I am happy to share it with other kitty lovers.

Thanks, Terianne

That's a great story. Welcome to TCS. I do believe that cats can somehow sense those who will give them the care they need. There are so many stories here of cats who have somehow found their way to their caretakers. I'm so glad that Surry found you.

Hi vball,

Yes, I'm still reading and probably will be for a while...lots of great info and threads here. Yes, cats are amazing creatures! What would life be without these wonderful loving babies that give us so much love. They are so much more intelligent than many people give them credit for.

Being a multiple kitty household, I have found that they will adapt on their own given time, love and patience. No fuss...just let them work out their differences and eventually they all manage to get along just fine. I think some may tend to worry too much with new kittys adapting to their new environments when there's really no need to. They are amazing and understand far more many assume.

Thanks :wavey:

Here's some pic of some of my kitty children.

Here's Katie, she went home to kitty heaven several years ago. She lived to be almost 22 and was the most beautiful little girl in the world. She was hubbys and my favorite being that she seemed to be almost human. She was the hostess with the mostess who loved everyone who walked through our door. We miss her terribly too.

This is Katie, Daisy and Nowty at a sunny feeding spot by the window.

This is Gunny the dog and Poo the kitty. Poo was amazing...we loved her so much, unfortunately Poo developed a rare disorder that locked her jaw and she couldn't eat. She went home to kitty heaven a few years back. She was so lovely...I still cry when I look at her pic.

This is Mia, who is still with us and is my little princess I call her. She was a rescue kitten we've had now for almost 14 years. She's beautiful isn't she. I love her dearly.

This is our little DaisyMae, loves to cuddle in the chair with us while we watch TV.

I'll have some more pics of the rest soon. Hope you enjoy these.

Haha, you're with the right crowd.  I have about 5,700 photos on my computer and I think about 5,600 of them are what I call CCPs (Cute Cat Pictures).  LOL
