It's said that we all have a book in us.

Imagine you have all it takes (talent, knowledge etc)...

Have a think about storylines or topics and tell us:

What book (fiction or non-fiction) would you write?

It would definitely be about the RugCats. They were born here, in a clothesbasket in our bedroom. They will pass away here, probably in the same bedroom. But between the time they were born and the time they cross the Bridge, they have some wonderful tales (tails?
) for us to tell! Complete with pictures.

And what would we include?

The time that Banshee parked her butt in the kitchen sink and ate the tuna while BooBoo was eating the peanut butter cups out of the cooling cupcakes. Which was also the time that Ms. Pepe knocked the crystal basket off the top of the television. That was quite the day....

The time that Ms. Pepe ate my computer mouse. Or the time that Pepe got caught above the receiver to the stereo....who knows what she was trying to do? But she got caught and I had to get her out. Oh, and the time that Ms. Pepe chewed a hole in my casserole warmer. I made Pepe write a letter to Corning, explaining what she had done. We received the most wonderful letter back that time, from the Customer Service Dept...and a free new warmer for my casserole.

The time that Hydrox, The Old Coot, got outside. It was dark and Hydrox was a black kitty. That was an interesting night. Or the time that Hydrox brought a live mouse to bed. And let's not forget when he got the home grown catnip down from the second shelf in the cabinet and I came home and found catnip all over the kitchen and Hydrox so wasted on nip he didn't know what was going on. He was paws-up under the kitchen table. Or the time Hydrox got into the catnip in his Christmas stocking and then tried to jump on top of the television. I had just polished the tv and it was just like something out of a cartoon. Rick said Hydox slid right along the top of the tv and crashed into a ceramic Santa. Hydrox and Santa hit the floor; Hydrox was fine, but Santa suffered a broken arm. Rick fixed Santa and we still have him....and every year, when we get Santa out, Rick loves to tell the story.

The time that the RugKittens knocked the Christmas tree down the steps to the front door. The time that Tabby decided she needed to adjust the tree lights and tried to get Boo to help her. Boo told her to do it herself and Tabby was not amused....we have pictures as proof.

When BooBoo turned into the Flying RugCat. He used to jump to the top of the bedroom door, walk along the top of the door, then leap to the bed with all his paws splayed out. Hit the bed, leap to the door and do it again. And again. And again. We have pictures of that feat. Or when Boo would leap up to the top of the kitchen cabinets, not know how to get back down, and start meowing for me to come out and save him. At 3:00 in the morning.

Such stories we could tell! The book would not be a bestseller, but we would love it anyway.

Pam, I'd definitely read that book!

My book would probably be about the adventures of teaching English as a foreign language, e.g., a hand being "executed", not amputated, clothes being kept in an oak "commode", or somebody standing at the "snakehead" rather than the front of the line. :)

I had a lot of encouragement to write a book about a former horse I had.

I already did a book and published it in 2001. It was a storybook genealogy of my fathers side of the family dating back to the first Federal Census which was done in 1790. I don't think I have another book in me. :lol3:

If I had one it would have to be short even by the time I added pictures. When she was little I used to tell my oldest niece a story about how I adopted my girl tabby kittens. I got them when my niece was 6 months old.  It was based a little bit on fact -  the name of the place they came from, and the name of the shop I made up they lived under with their mom, but the rest of it was all fiction. Oh yeh, and the bit about how they took it in turns to cry for the whole 2 hours it took me to drive from their mom's nest to my apartment!  My niece used to like that story and would ask me to tell it to her when she'd had enough of 'The Monster Bed'  (which wasn't often).

My mother always told me I should write an autobiography.. Mothers say things like that, of course, and to her my life was unorthadox and fascinating.

She passed away six years ago, but I think I'd do that, just for her.  And it could prove to be quite therapeutic!

I think mine would be a relationship book for younger couples maybe.  Some common sense with a dose of humor?  I've had a few people seek me out for advice that surprised me.  I don't claim to be any kind of expert or have a prefect marriage or anything crazy like that.  And I was young when I got married so I've had plenty of the "you don't understand" from the single crowd (in my own defense; I had never dated anyone till my 2nd year of college when I met DH; I think I had a good enough share of the singleness...but I sort of get em too.).  But I think I've helped some people get a different perspective on things.  I guess I sort of do that with friendship problems too.  So maybe it's helping people get a little perspective thats the root of it all?

Maybe someday.  There is always more to learn and it just doesn't feel like time yet I guess.

Thank you, Tricia!

I think your book would be hilarious....a hand being executed? Oy!
