Has anyone heard of, or tried this food? l happened to notice it on display at the pet food store, read the ingredients of the holistic canned, and was surprised to see that it is meat, water, liver, and gum. l picked up two cans for the dog - Turkey ( turkey, water, liver, guar gum) and Venison (venison, water, venison tripe, liver, guar gum). l like that there are no grains etc, etc, and that there are so few ingredients, however, l'm not fond of how vague the list is. Does that mean they remove the stomach contents and liver to be listed separately, pick up the deer and throw it in a grinder as a whole? ls it meat, muscle, fat, skin, bones, what?

Checking their website gives no more clues - they have a more comprehensive list of things NOT in the can! l did however run across the fact that they also make a Feline Caviar! The holistic cans seem to be the same except for Beaver, which contains carrageenan in Cat, but not in Dog food.

l'm giving it to my dog, and would be interested in finding out if the Canine version can be fed to cats - and if they'll cough up a more detailed ingredient analysis.

lf anyone has more information, or has tried it, or even knows who makes it, l'd love to hear. Otherwise, l'll send off an email and update this thread if l hear from the company.

Hmm, have not seen this. It doesn't sound like a "complete" food since there's no added taurine, vitamins and minerals. Does it say for supplemental feeding anywhere on the can?

A named meat (like turkey above) should be meat. If it contained other stuff, it would have to be labelled either by-products or the specific item like the liver and tripe are.

If you do contact the company, please do let us know what they say.

Ah yes, good point.  l got one of the cans, and on the back, not the front!!, it says, "for intermittent or supplemental feeding".

Yikes, l'm here on TCS reading and talking about pet nutrition all the time, yet l failed to notice that very basic, and VERY important element

l wonder how many people feed this stuff as a complete food without scrutinizing the small print on the back. The highlighted larger print is quite impressive.
