Please send prayers and  vibes for "Grayce" the lost kitty who crossed The Bridge.

Grayce was found during a Feb,2011 blizzard in the Vons parking lot.  Her collar was missing; she was bleeding, cold, wet, starving, thirsty. The local feral cats were attacking her and she was near death when I scooped her up and rushed her to the vet. No one posted her as missing; no one answered my "found kitty" ads. She was a beautiful, obviously quality, Russian Blue  so we called her Grayce.

Perhaps in gratitude, Grayce nurtured several litters of feral kittens. She was always the lady - elegant, dignified, purring and lively.

She developed benign tumors about her neck (possibly from the old-fashioned flea collars - as I mentioned, she was ancient) last winter. Last week, I found out they had metastasized. She had been slowing down quite a bit and it was time for action before she became really miserable.

My theory is that she got lost from a transient RV (I meet soooo many, too many, actually, people living in parking lots during my caring for feral colonies). Once upon a time, Grayce had a family and probably had litters of her own. I am grateful that she spent her last couple of years inside, enjoying kibble, canned food, cuddles, toys, etc.   If her original family has anyone who has Crossed, I hope and pray they meet her there on the Other Side.

Godspeed, sweet angel....  Our little Mike Trout, a feral rescue, is quite ill and may soon meet you there...please greet him if he comes.

That's so sad that her previous owners were never found. She sounds like she was a very loving cat. RIP, sweetie. You may have been lost, but you were found by somebody who cared about you and who grieves your passing.

Very sorry to hear about Graycie.  She was so lucky that she found you and your furever home.  Russian Blues are close to my heart as I now live with one, and I can imagine what a loving and gentle addition to your family she has been.  I will join in your wishes that she finds others that she knows and is safe and happy where she is now.  My thoughts are also with you and Mike Trout as your home adjusts to your loss.

I'm so sorry you that Grayce is no longer a part of your family, but so happy you saved her and gave her happiness and love. Bless you for your kindness, I'm sure she'll be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. RIP beautiful Grayce!
