My cat is getting this for a torn ligament in her leg, it appears to be helping to eliminate some pain. When the treatment is happening her leg shakes is this a sign of pain or does the laser therapy do this as it heals nerves and muscle?

Maybe you should ask the vet?

My horse had some treatments with laser on some wounds. I think the area would get hot but he wasn't in pain.

I did and he said it might be but didn't specify if it was from the laser or touching the injury area. I'm surprised nobody on here got this done for a cat is it a new treatment?

I think it might be either new or the equipment might be expensive so only specialist type vets have it.  I seen it done once on My Cat From Hell.  In that case the cat had arthritis from an abnormal gait caused by declawing.  The cat didn't seem to be stressed out from it and it did help her.

My youngest cat was given laser treatment after her spay.  The vet is convinced it helps healing and reduces inflammation.  Can't say if it helped or not, or if she experienced any pain from it, but her spay presented no problems and her stitch area healed quickly.

One of my husband's shop cats just had several teeth removed for stomatitis with a different vet.  They too used the laser treatment to reduce inflammation, pain, and swelling.  The cat started eating right away where he wasn't eating before.

So, two vets, both say it helps.  We were charged extra for the laser treatment.

It does seem to be helping, my cat is willingly jumping, able to scratch using her back legs, going up stairs, and even did a short "charge" at my other cat which up until now she could not do but used to do all the time before the injury. So long as it heals for good and pain is gone its a success.
