Since coming off one of her pain killers my kitten has become super restless in her cage. Shes wanting to be out and wandering around our living room or getting cuddles and when she decides she wants this over resting in the cage she meows persistently  and squeaks while standing on her hind legs (one of which she fractured and has a pin in it with her front paws through the bars at the top of the cage hooked around as if shes holding on. Any ideas on how I can calm her down. She's still got one of the two pain medications which she must take with food so I am not sure wether it is the pain or just restlessness any ideas?

I was afraid of this, being that she is just a kitten and wants to play, etc.
.  You can try getting a Feliway plug-in, which might help to calm her, since it constantly releases something into the atmosphere..

The only other thing I can suggest, other than the Feliway, is to play music and DVD's SPECIFIC to cats.  Harp music is supposed to be very calming to cats.  Also, there are other CD's for cats.  Just google "music for cats".  And there are DVD's made to entertain cats. Of course, this means she will need to have a TV within viewing range
But don't play anything  too loud, as cats ears are sensitive to sound.

You could also talk to your Vet about what she is doing and ask if there is anything you can give her to calm her.  I'll bet she just want to play, though.  When cats are in pain, the usually don't meow.  They lay in a crunched up position.

How many weeks left?  Two?

Perhaps you can try putting her in a large mesh playpen with a box or basket and some toys.  Most likely, though, she craves being with someone else, as kittens are naturally social, having been born into litters.  i have found that most cats resent the door of a kennel - like any intelligent inmate, they just want OUT! keeping your kitten quiet is a real challenge -it's like trying to get a toddler to sit still in a chair.  Prayers and vibes that you get peace and quiet, and the kitten contentment, very very soon!

Well I don't know why you can't cuddle with her...the only problem may be trying to get her back into the cage

spending a lot more time meowing and shouting in her cage its absolutey heart breaking so I have fenced off a small area in our living room adjacent to her cage so she can roam around if she pleases. Not large enough to cause strain but enough that a few small laps will tire her out and make her sleepy,
