So we had Turkey soup for supper tonight, and I figured since I don't use spice in any form as a rule, and only added meat and veggies after boiling and removing the bones, the broth would be a nice treat for the cats. They both enjoyed sharing a large shallow dish of broth and turkey for supper, instead of the usual late evening kibble ration.

Does anyone else share soups/stews with the cats/cook cat food? I'm interested in recipes, both for cat food, and for crock pot that I can share with the cats.

As long as you keep it at less than 15% of their total diet, I don't see a problem with it. The issue if you want to feed more than that is it's pretty impossible to determine what minerals are leached into the water from cooking the bones.

I do the same thing as a little treat for my kitten. But just like Vball said, as long as its about 15% or lower, your in the clear :D

I like to put different types of meat in my crockpot and just boil/slow cook them before I add them to other dishes I have in store for them. So I always set aside some of the meat right before I'm about to prepare it for dinner just so Ziggy can have a little treat, or she just gets broth, or broth with her kibble or wet food she is going to have.
