I have two new kittens. I have actually had them for three months, but it is only in the last two weeks that I have admitted they are here to stay. Back in the summer, when I was really concentrating on looking after my 99 year old mother who was staying with me, two people turned up at my gate, each carrying a four-week old kitten. They told me they had been feeding them at their rented holiday house in the next village. So they went to the local mayor, who recommended they bring the kittens to 'the English woman up the hill who takes in orphan kittens'! And then they thrust the kittens at me and left.
I tried to find homes for them, really I did. My friend Lynda (Milkmaid here) thought she had found someone, who came to see them, loved them, but decided she only wanted one and she did not want to separate them, so declined. And since then, not a peep. And then my mother had a fall, was hospitalised and I had no time for anything. Now the kittens are five months old and fully integrated into the household. Last week I named them and had them vaccinated. And as far as I am concerned, that means they are now adopted.
And they are the prettiest kittens I have seen in a long time, absolutely stunning in fact.
This is the little girl, whom I have named Topaz
And here is her brother, Amber
Because when they first came I kept them in a large cage in the hall, Honey the dog became friends with them very quickly. Topaz especially likes to curl up and use Honey's long hair as a blanket. I am posting more pictures FP and V.
So that makes 10. But what else could I do?
