I have a kitten now that I rescued from a farm where her mother abandoned her. She was very hungry and I found her eating scraps of chicken meat, but when she got a mouthful and swallowed she would take her paws and it looked as if she was trying to get the food out of her throat as if it was choking her.
I've been bottle feeding her KMR around 4 ones daily and every time she drinks about 3 tablespoons (could be ounces, I forgot!) each time she eats and she still acts hungry and tries to eat dry cat food. Other kittens her age don't have problems eating it but she scratches at her throat like she's choking. I tried wet food and she did the same. I tried giving her small amounts at a time, thinking she was too excited but the same thing happened.

Someone told me at a certain age kittens would choke if they tried eating food-is my kitten that age? I have no idea on how old she is but I will attach a picture or two. Going to the vet Monday, but I'd still like an idea of what in the world she's going through. :(

Have you tried watering down canned food to make it soupy? That's usually what small kittens can eat easily. Her teeth may not be big or strong enough to crunch kibbles or tear meat.
