I recently took a kitten from a farm where she was fed very poor nutrition and had to fight other cats to eat. She looks like she's only 4 or 5 weeks, and I found her alone. I think her mom is either sick or may have a mental problem-this is not the first time she's done it. I found another litter from her today left alone (for over a day, for sure. They were starving and very weak). They all have very upset tummies and I think it's because of the quick change in died. They went from eating raw chicken to dry cat food (wet if they are too young). I wanted to stop feeding them raw chicken immediately because I know that it can be very unhealthy, and now they have diarrhea. It seems like it's getting better the more time they have. I am quite sure they all have worms and I am getting them into the vet monday for a checkup, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do. Is it worth it to switch back to chicken and gradually introduce cat food or will that make their tummies even more upset?
I know I've made a mistake, but I'm pretty sure you aren't perfect either, so please don't be rude. ;)

Thanks for rescuing the kittens. Parasites are the most common cause of diarrhea in kittens, so it's good they're going to see a vet soon. As for diet, raw chicken alone is not a complete and balanced diet, but dry food alone isn't a good thing either. If they are really young, they may benefit from some kitten milk replacer (formula for kittens). Otherwise, I would recommend a good kitten soft food. The Fancy Feast kitten formula is pretty good. While rapid diet changes can cause stomach upset, it is most likely the worms causing the diarrhea, so I would just feed them the best diet you can.
