I got her yesterday and she is adorable!

Her previous owner was feeding her whiskas jelly pouches, so I bought some but she wouldn't eat any of it?? She also ignored some iams. She was petrified yesterday and was shivering, but overnight she has been licking my finger and playing with me.

This morning I tried again to feed her some whiskas turkey pouch but still she ignored it. I'm eager to feed a raw diet so this morning, I gave her one small chicken wing and she ate all the meat off of the bone (but not the whole wing - probably because she's still so small) I also just gave her whiskas cat milk - which she loved.

I'm just wondering if it's okay that she'll only eat this, because I lost my cat to hepatic lipidosis so now  I'm (maybe) a bit paranoid about this new one not getting all she needs.

I'm thinking of offering some egg yolk. But the eggs have been left out on the kitchen windowsill and are still left out. Will these be safe for her to eat raw?

You can pour boiling water on the eggs(shells), or even have some soap in the first burst of boiling water, clean off with next too...  Same tip if you arent sure if there may be salomonella on eggshells.

Crushed eggshells useful for extra calcium, if need be.

Can you by any chance get goat milk? its even better than this whiskas cat milk.

Otherwise, good she began at least with those chicken wings, I presume her appetite will return soon.

Good luck!

Meat (no bones), eggs and cat milk do not make for a complete and balanced raw diet. I know you just got her, so nutritional deficiencies have not had time to develop, but this is what can happen to kittens fed an unbalanced raw diet. http://www.thecatsite.com/t/259623/2-months-old-eating-only-meat

I'm not trying to scare you or warn you away from raw feeding (I'm a raw feeder myself
), but feeding raw does require a little research and work to ensure that nutritional requirements are met, especially for kittens. Have a look through this resource thread which pretty much explains everything you need to know about raw feeding. http://www.thecatsite.com/t/264154/raw-feeding-resources  Then ask some questions you may have that are specific to your situation. For example, I think premixes (nutritional supplements that make just meat balanced and complete) are difficult to source in the UK, so that may not be an option for you. Also note that you can feed up to 15% raw without worrying about balancing it.

No, thank you for telling me that and I am scared though because I want her to eat the jelly pouch meat but she won't. What can I do to balance out the things she will eat? What does she need? Thank you so much

Yay! I have found some supplements here in the UK. I problem is I just need to find some I can buy right now instead of ordering some online.

Nutritional deficiencies do take time to develop, so if it takes a few days for delivery, it's fine. Which supplements did you find?

So far I found Felini this is the link: http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/supplements_specialty_cat_food/vitamins/155860

and Catfortan : http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/...amins/145106?gclid=CPK09LixnroCFbGWtAod_U4AOw

She didn't open her bowls today either, is that a major concern? Could it be the food or just her moving house? I think I'll call my vet tomorrow because I need to book her vaccines anyway.
I'm not familiar with it, but the description for Felini sounds good, better than the Catfortan which has yeasts and a few other things I don't like.

Cats who are raw fed generally poop every 2-3 days. Because the raw meat is so highly bioavailable to them, there is very little waste. You will basically see hard little hairy poops in the litter tray. Oh, and also, there will be very little to no smell.
