I don't think there is an "official answer" for growing kittens. The general rule of thumb with growing kittens is to feed as much as they want. However, every cat is an individual and just like people, there will be cats who overeat. The best gauge is their appearance and weight. It's really trial and error. He may be going through a growth spurt and want more food. That may stop in a few weeks. Sorry my answer isn't more definitive. If he were my cat, I would feed a little more if he still seems hungry. If he starts looking/feeling chubby, then I would cut back on the food.
