I made a girl at work cry today, in a good way!

I sent each of my 2 communication clerks a small bouquet of flowers to let them know that I appreciate them and the work they do in my clinics.

One girl whom I just started working with, was so touched, she was misty eyed and gave me a big hug.

I was happy to do it. Our communication clerks work very hard, and don't always feel appreciated for their efforts.  So I always like to do something nice for the ones that work with me.

Plus I had a bit of an ulterior motive!  One of the girls has been there for a long time, but I only just started to work with her.  Not only am I still getting familiar with the work in the new clinic (chemotherapy), but I have my own ways of doing things in order to keep me and the doctor organized and on top of things so things don't get missed and the poor girl has been feeling very confused at times. So I wanted to soften her up a little

Aw that was very nice of you!  It seems to me flowers are a bit "forgotten" as gestures for anything these days except the major things like Valentine's Day and an anniversary.  My Aunt sent me a beautiful bouquet when I turned 16 and that is still one of my most favorite gifts I've ever received.  It made me feel very special!

What a sweet thing to do. My hubby keeps me in fresh flowers. He buys bunches at the local grocery for my vase on the dining room table. They last about two weeks and then he brings me a new bunch. Even though he does it on a regular basis, it touches my heart every time. It is a wonderful way to show love and appreciation and you well deserved the hugs.

That was VERY nice of you! I wish more people could be as thoughtful! Sometimes I wonder if most bosses just wait and pounce on things gone wrong, rather then give you praise when things go good. Around here it's no news is good news!
