I had my 6 month old kitten spayed last week and now there is a lump right by the incision. What causes this and should I be worried?

I had the same problem with my kitten but I asked the vet and they said it's nothing to worry about unless it doesn't go away, took a couple weeks for it to get smaller, there's still a tiny bump 8 months later but it doesn't bother her at all.
