Just some advice please, I had to take one of my cats 4 week old kittens to the vets this morning as he went very floppy overnight, he had to be put to sleep as he had neurological problems and there was nothing that could be done, obviously we are heartbroken but I'm more worried about mum, we took her and both kittens to the vets as I didn't want to separate them, Since we came home she has been playing with remainder kitten and feeding him etc but is also searching for the other one and meowing at me. What can I do to help her????

There is not much to do, but showing sympathy...   Unless you do have Feliway at hand, this could prob be tried.

Earlier, you could show her  the dead body.   In the future, when the kittens goes to its new home, show her when he is leaving, it will diminish the searching and despair phase...

I feel with you.

Good luck!

ps.

Another possibility is if you can and want take in one or two fosterlings.  Perhaps the vet  knows somebody in need?

Or a shelter nearby?  Just make sure the fosterlings are reasonably healthy...

If your mom and kitten are healthy, there may be a surge for your help.
