Hi, my cat is not interested in his cat grass at all. What about your cats?

I buy dry food with vegetables, no idea if they are important for the cats health and if that grass has any real benefit..

(Alexander is with me since 3 weeks. He was very stressed and sad. He is slim, but eating well now. I feed him wet, dry and raw food.)

I view cat grass as a treat for Ritz; she doesn't need it but she loves it. I also let her play with ornamental grass; certain varieties grow tall and she likes to 'hunt' and 'pounce' (eat) on it.
Cat grass can induce a cat to vomit; depending on what s/he's eaten, that may be a good thing.
Certainly you don't NEED to feed Alexander cat grass.
PS: adorable kitten BTW.

Grass may serve as a prebiotic for cats. Some cats seem to love it. Others don't. As Ritz mentioned, it's not necessary. Which dry food with vegetables are you getting? Cats don't need any vegetables in their diet.

I thought all cats like some green, especially  after my best friends cat finished my peace lily. Right now I have PURINA, this one:

Alexander had a nap in my hands for first time today. But sadly not purring yet. I just want him to be happy and enjoy his food and toys..

That Friskies dry formulation is actually one of the lowest quality dry foods. Below are the ingredients. Corn is the first and third ingredient. Soybean meal and brewer's dried yeast also do not belong in an obligate carnivore's diet. If you must feed any dry food at all, I would pick a better one and use it for supplemental feeding while he's still a growing kitten. http://www.catinfo.org/ is a site written by a vet that explains why dry food is not good for cats.

Ingredients of Friskies Indoor Delights:

Ground yellow corn, chicken by-product meal, corn gluten meal, ground wheat, beef tallow preserved with mixed tocopherols (source of vitamin E), fish meal, soybean meal, brewers dried yeast, animal digest, phosphoric acid, potassium chloride, tetra sodium pyrophosphate, salt, calcium carbonate, choline chloride, salmon meal, turkey by-product meal, glandular meal (source of liver flavor), added color (red 40, yellow 6, yellow 5, blue 2, and other color), taurine, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, l-alanine, vitamin E supplement, niacin, manganese sulfate, vitamin A supplement, calcium pantothenate, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1), riboflavin supplement (vitamin B2), vitamin B12 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), copper sulfate, folic acid, vitamin D3 supplement, citric acid, calcium iodate, biotin, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of vitamin K activity), sodium selenite.

Thank you vball91, at that time I didn't know the plant is toxic.

I will go read about the dry food. Horrible ingredients , what else I can say ..

I assume what you can get in UAE isn't what you can buy in the USA.
If you send us the ingredients in the food you can buy, and we'll try to help you figure out which is the best.

That would be nice, thank you. In the morning he eats Whiskas pocket, different flavor, like tuna, fish and shrimp, beef etc. I hope its better then Purina. (im really upset about the dry food ingredients)

My cat is an indoor cat, but my wife "had" plants in our home. He would eat the green leaves and stems and within 30 minutes of time, he would vomit all the chewed up pieces back up. So, no more plants in our home and that is why I said, "had".

I've heard mixed reviews for wheat grass in general. Some like it, some don't. My kitty paid absolutely no attention to it.Some kitties get upset stomach over it, too.

My cats love cat grass when it's around. My male will sit around meowing for it if I don't have it down on the ground. They will usually eat it until they puke but I thinks it's just because the don't get it very often and it's a treat. I have to take it away most times which isn't always pleasant ;)

Doesn't seem to do any harm though.

So its individual. Someone posted about a good tread here, ''the truth'' about Cat Grass, if someone can post a link, that would be great. :)
