I know I read a thread like this not too long ago, but I can't seem to find it...so sorry about another thread.

As of right now, I have bought the more expensive brands of wet food for my kittens. I would like a list of cheaper brands that are "okay" that I can feed...should money get tight down the road.

I feel like I remember reading Fancy Feast classics, Friskies grilled (or something), & I don't know what others.

By the way...cheapest grain free wet foods would be cool too! Thanks!

Sheba is a good inexpensive grain free wet canned cat food. It comes in slices and pate. It normally sells for $0.59 for a 3 oz can, but at Petsmart right now, it's selling for $0.50 a can. Check out the ingredients in the different flavors in the link below.

Good to know, thanks.  I'm in the process of switching all 7 cats, but particularly two IBD cats we have to grain free.  It does get pricey trying different types of foods!

Check grocery store versions of the same foods as well. My dear Grey :rbheart: preferred the Winn Dixie brand of Fancy Feast classics to the brand name. Sales were helpful too!

I am on a budget, but wasn't 100% comfortable with feeding Friskies, with the meat by-products. After much deliberation and reviewing ingredients, I went with Authority (Petsmart brand). No by-products, my cats love it and they look good on it :-)

Theirs Sheba, Friskies Mixed Grill, Fancy Feast Classic line only, Authority by PetSmart, Soulistic by PetCo, Cat Cusine (mixed grill) from save a lot is very similar to Friskies mixed grill olny difference is Cat Cuisine does have higher fat and Fiber percentages then , its also cheaper then friskies :D They also have Cat Cuisine[emoji]174[/emoji]  ProBlend whicfh is grain free from what i've seen, also quite cheap. Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Hope that helps!

I've seen both Fancy Feast and Friskies at Costco.

If you want something that is high quality but relatively inexpensive considering the high protein, try Hound and Gatos. About $1.35/5.5 can.

@GraveKandi: Nice list! Thanks. :)

@Raintyger: Yes, I'd like to try Hounds & Gatos...just need to find a store that sells it around here.

I'd also like to look into Authority whenever I get around a Petsmart. I bought a few cans of Soulistic from Petco the other day & 2 cans of Evanger's Organix that were discounted at the local store.

I finally got to bring home 1 of my 2 kittens today...so the food journey begins!

We have been getting Authority for the past few months (wet and dry) and are pleased with the results. The price is great and the ingredients are similar to Iams, but a bit better on the dry. My cats particularly like the canned catfish.

Here is the link vball91 posted for me the other day- I want to try Hounds and Gatos, too :)

For Hound and Gatos you have to search for it. It is mainly available by mail order, but is sometimes carried in boutique pet stores, feed and tack stores,  holistic pet stores, or in pet grooming stores which include boutiques. They have a list of vendors on their website, but in my case the list was not up to date at all. I went to a place in Santa Monica, CA that may mail it to you:
