Hi I'm Emily and I love my 6 year old cat more than anything and lately he has been throwing up everyday and now he's losing weight and we've tried 3 different foods. We learned that the food we use to give him was recalled for salmonella but everyone is saying he has feline leukemia (we had a cat that did) and I just don't believe it. We're calling the bet tomorrow. He doesn't have almost any of the leukemia symptoms so there is nothing to word about, right?

might be because he's eating too fast or has a sensitivity to certain ingredients in your selections of food. my cat used to throw up 3 times a week until I changed her to a grain free food and starting proportioning her feedings. but since your cat is losing weight also, i'd check to see if there's any obstructions inside him that's preventing him from digesting his food resulting in him throwing it up cause there's no other way out. or it could be something like hyperthyroidism like my cat has, or some kind of organ disease. not gonna know what it is til  you get him tested and checked out by a vet. hope it's nothing serious

If he is an indoor cat it is highly unlikely that your dealing with leukemia.  In 57 years with cats I've only lost one to feline leukemia, and that was so long ago they didn't even have a name for it.  Are any of the people telling you this veterinarians?   There are a whole boatload of problems that could cause his symptoms.  He's not eating and losing weight, that is a sign that he absolutely must to see a vet.  I don't see how anyone who isn't a qualified would even try to give you a diagnosis.  Without some obvious sign most vets will want blood tests.  If that shows nothing, then x-rays, at least that's the order I've seen. Even if it is the leukemia, there are new treatments that can help, but early diagnosis is the key.  Get him to a vet, this isn't going to fix itself.

Good thing he's going to the vet.  He needs to have some bloodwork done to rule out anything like thyroid problems or diabetes.  It could be a food insensitivity so talk to your vet about a limited ingredient diet.

There is a specific blood test to either confirm or rule out FeLV.  However, many other ailments can cause vomiting and anorexia.  It can be very frustrating getting a good dx.

My kitty was vomiting and was just diagnosed with pancreatitis. Make sure your vet runs an fPLI test for your kitty!

Good luck!
