One of my two adult cats has a ringworm spot, the other has yet to have one. Now comes the overwhelming part of cleaning.

From those who have done it already, what is the best way to tackle to job?

I just have no idea where to start. We have 3 levels in the house, the ground floor is hardwood with the living room and kitchen, the top floors are all carpet. The 2nd floor is the master and 2 more bedrooms, the 3rd floor is just a bonus room that we us as the computer room.

Is it best to work from the top down? Do I start washing the clothes and bedding first? I know once we have a plan of attack we can get through this, it is not life threatening.

Thank you for all the help!!

Wherever the affected cat was needs cleaning. Start at the top, wash the sheets and linens as you go. Vacuum everything and wipe all surfaces with bleach water. It doesn't have to be ultra strong (10%) is fine. Don't use too much stronger, especially if you can't open windows. I use Clorox Clean-Up on dirty spots.

I did a complete clean-up one time and I have a small house. Next time I had fosters with ringworm, I hired a cleaning service! My excuse was the house needed a thorough cleaning anyway. Think of it like spring cleaning (with a vengenge).
