I know none of you know who I am and I don't blame you if you ignore or delete this thread. But, I am desperate to get my cat Pigeon better so I am willing to try anything. Recently my cat was diagnosed with feline hepatic lipidosis and I have spent $5000 trying to get her well. She is improving and I tube feed her every 4 hours. The surgery to remove the tube will be expensive and I can't afford the current bill. I am working two jobs to pay for her bills. Please consider donating or offering hugs at http://gfwd.at/19lTJUa. If you have any questions please don't hesitate. I am grateful you read this post. I just want to save this poor animal and wish I didn't have to resort to charity. My name is Ashley Fiorucci and I appreciate all of your kindness.

Hi Ashley. Welcome to TCS. Sorry to hear that Pigeon has been sick. Many vibes for a full recovery for her and lots of hugs for you. We know how emotional tough it is when our beloved pets are sick. Usually HL is secondary to some other issue. What made your cat stop eating in the first place?

I'm so glad to hear she is improving!  I've had a cat with HL before, and it's tough, but sounds like if she's already got the feeding tube installed, and you're doing the feedings, you're halfway home.  I just looked at your Give Forward page and see she had a stomach blockage!  That's probably what cost so much.

How is she doing now?  Does the Vet think she will make a complete recovery now that the blockage has been removed and she is on the feeding tube?  What caused the blockage?

for your girl, and good luck to you with your fund raiser.  I see you're getting quite a few donations already

Just a reminder from the Mod Team:

From the Mod Team Regarding Pleas for money:

Cats are a huge responsibility. Anyone who thinks otherwise, should not have one in their life. They are dependent on us for everything from providing a place to eat, to also providing vet care.

Anyone who has cats knows that they can and do get ill. Your best defense is to plan for that to happen before it does, and store monies away in preparation.

If you read about a plight of an animal on the internet and your heart is drawn to help. Check out the story thoroughly. Google the vet's name or call Directory Assistance in the city and be sure this is a legitimate claim.

Do not blindly send money into a paypal account no matter how heart-wrenching the story. Instead reach out to the member and ask for the vet's name and phone number, and arrange to send the money there for the specific needs of the cat in question.

If that information cannot be provided- you have your answer. Report the post to a moderator so that it can be removed for not being on the level.

Hello all and thank you for the interest in this thread. The blockage was plant material and it appears to be what caused her to stop eating. I know I am being very brazen coming onto a forum where no one knows me and asking for money. And I understand that I got myself into this mess and it is completely my responsibility. I am doing all I can to earn the money to fix my little pet. I am at the point of desperation and do not know where else to turn or what else to do. My younger sister came up with the idea of starting the fundraiser and I agreed to go ahead because I am willing to try anything. I know many will turn the other cheek and some of you may even be offended and for that I apologize. All I can do is try and I refuse to give up without a fight. I hope you understand this is more about my cat than anything. I just want what is best for her. Thanks you.

Also if there is a soul that would like to donate but questions the validity of the post or bill total please do not hesitate to contact P.E.T.S (Pet emergency treatment services) in Lancaster Pa. The vet that did the endoscopy and feeding tube was Dr. Rodruigez and the vet that did the ultrasound was Dr. Knox. My name is Ashley Fiorucci and my cat's name is Pigeon. All money raised is going strictly to her medical bills.
