I do mine every year, on time, had it done a few months back.  My mom passed from breast cancer 18 years ago, and ever since then it's become routine for me and my sisters.  So, I started when I was 36 years old, younger than recommended.

I'm going on 55 now and so far, so good.  I hope that women have come to realize this really isn't such a big deal in the grand scheme of things to go through and the benefits of early detection outweight the slight inconvenience it might cause.

In Canada the earliest I've been told I'm allowed to have one done is when I'm 35. Despite the fact that my Mom is a breast cancer survivor.

That's kind of a shame.  My BFF has had one at 31 in the beginning of her chemo for Hodgkins lymphoma earlier this year.  When I had a cyst rupture years ago they told me my breasts were too dense to do a mammogram so they sent me for an ultrasound.  I don't know if that is an option for you.

l'm in Canada and was scheduled for one before 35 although l have zero history of breast cancer in my family.

That said, l'm only now scheduled for my second one at 50 years old.

I'm not sure but I'm with a new doctor now so I'm gonna bring it up to him and see if he can do anything. I'm 32 now and a lot could happen between now and 35.

In 1988 my mother in law died of breast cancer. She did have her left breast removed.

Sure can't hurt to ask right?  :)
Exactly, and he's an amazing doctor. When I was pregnant for my youngest I had just moved to a new are and hadn't been able to find a new doctor. I got a SEVERE bladder infection when I was about 3-4 months. I had never had one in my life so I didn't know the symptoms. I thought the pain I was having in my abdominal area and having to pee all the time was because everything was stretching expanding and adjusting. Eventually it got to where i was going to pee every five minutes. Finally one night the pain was so bad that I had to bite down on a pillow to stop myself from screaming in pain... and then the bleeding started. I was terrified. The next day I went to the ER. All the local doctors take turns in rotation in the emergency room here and it was his turn. Once he ran test and found out what was going on he asked why I hadn't seen my family doctor. We have a severe shortage of doctors here and I had contacted all the local offices including his and none were taking more patients. When he heard that I was pregnant and had no doctor he wouldn't hear of it. He took me on right there, no questions asked.

I have a lot of love and respect for that man!!!

I have mine done every year.  I once heard that it's possible for cancer to go undected for as long as two years before a woman feels a lump in her breast.  So yearly mammograms are really worth it!
