I'm just curious if this is normal or if there is a health issue I should be concerned about. My black cat has mediumish black fur. Recently, parts of her fur have turned white/gray. Behind her ears is most noticeable, but it's also at the base of her tail and under her belly. Actually, I just looked at her again, and her under side, including the bottom of her tail is a gray brown color. I have read that black cats "rust" in the sun, but this is just there. It's not just when she's in sunlight.
She does have a few sparse completely white hairs throughout her coat, so I am curious if maybe it's just her coloring? She's about 15 months old, so it's not old age.
Another issue I have is she got out of the house yesterday. Solicitors came to my door and when I answered it, she walked out. I was going to get her as soon as they left, but they distracted me and I forgot to get her. She was out there for about 3 hours before she came around the back of the house to be let in. She could have went anywhere and I have seen another stray cat in the area, so she may not have been alone.
How worried should I be about her possibly catching a sickness or being pregnant? I had plans to get her spayed next month, but I'm afraid it may be too late. :/
I'm just hoping the stray was a female, too.
