I just wanted to inform people that some shelters or pounds call scared cats ferals. I had visit a shelter on line and seen a tiny black kitten  that i wanted and called right away to adopt him but, they told me that the mama cat was a feral and that they were going to put her down along with the kittens because they were not weaned yet. I offered to bottle feed him but they said they couldn't release him to me unless he was weaned. I contacted a kitty rescue and we went over there to rescue them and I ended up taking mama and kittens home with me with the supervision of the rescue team. The mama cat was not a wild cat at all, she was just scared and protecting her babies. After she got to know us she allowed us to touch the kittens. When they were weaned the rescue team came a got them and  they ended up keeping mama cat because she allowed orphan kittens to drink from her as if they were her own. I got to keep my little black kitten and he is now going on 2 years. His name is Prince Xavier. Just thought I throw that out there.

That can be true in some cases but when I picked her up from the pound and they got her out of the cage into a carrier along with her kittens, and got her out again for a rabies shot, she was not hissing or growling. She was very calm the whole time and still the shelter worker told me "oh you better watch for that one, she's  a mean one". I'm just speaking out for the cats cause they have no voice, I just shutter at the thought of what if they had put her and her kittens down just because of a misjudgment, I wouldn't of had my Prince today and they wouldn't of been in a good home like they are now.
