October 21st is Babbling Day! What a great occasion to shoot the breeze and chat about anything and everything in one looooooong babbling thread!

View media item 182009
We normally do not encourage babbling/drivel threads, but in this occasion that's exactly what we're looking for. We do have rules of course, but also some very cool prizes!

How to Win

It's simple enough. Whoever makes post #1000 in this thread is our contest winner!

View media item 182010Yes, there are rules, but first let's take a look at the prize! Our lucky winner will get a package with the following -

1. A 100% cotton canvas TCS tote bag with plenty of room to carry everything you need when you are on the go. Tote bag includes a bottom gusset and extra long handles for easy carrying. Best of all, it comes with a print of your choice from our TCS store, showing your love for cats!

2. A tagless, ultra-soft premium cotton light TCS t-shirt that offers comfort and durability. Available in a wide range of sizes (small to 4X) and your favorite TCS print from our store.

3. A premium-sized ceramic TCS coffee mug. With its large easy-to-grip handle, steady base, and hefty 15 oz. capacity, this mug allows for comfortable sipping and slosh-free use, at home or at the office. Dishwasher & microwave safe, it's easy to clean and for reheating. All you have to do is let us know which TCS print you'd like to have on it.

There's a 2nd prize as well, but you'll have to read on to find out how to get that one!

The Rules

1. Minimum of 15 words per post.

Don't bother with counting words. Just make sure your posts are longer than one line and you should be ok.

2. Proper English. Please don't just hit randomly at your keyboard. No gibberish allowed and as with other posts on the site, try to avoid texting abbreviations.

3. Comprehensible posts. Your posts can be drivel, but they still need to make sense. Avoid using automated text generators. It's a babbling thread, but we still want to see communication with your fellow members.

4. Original posts only. Please do not copy and paste text from another source. Not even from this site. Not even if you were the author. Just write something fresh for this thread.

5. No consecutive posts. You can't add a reply if yours is the last post in the thread. If anyone starts talking to themselves to speed things up, they risk getting banned from this thread.

Yes, the last rule means it's a bummer to make post #999 in the thread. That's why whoever makes the sacrifice and posts the one-before-last post still gets a prize!

Post #999 will get that person a TCS tote bag and a TCS bumper sticker!

View media item 182012

Note: if we don't make it to 1000 posts by October 21, the thread will be closed for further submissions at the end of that day and we'll pick a random winner from the thread. That means you could possibly still win, even if you just made post #xxx in the thread.

Let's get the thread rolling! Good morning posts and positive thoughts to start this off with are very welcome! Just make sure they follow the rules are are longer than 14 words.

Good luck!

Well it's evening here and I'm just settling down to a cauliflower cheese bake, my knitting and reruns of Dr Who.

Most of our members are just waking up, so don't forget to have a hearty breakfast, floss your teeth and give all the cats a big kiss (not necessarily in that order...)

Yes, it's morning here on the east coast of the USA! Good morning or evening to everyone.
It's almost 6am here and my kitties just had their morning kisses, belly rubs, and breakfast. I too had my usual of just coffee.
I know, bad, bad breakfast and I SHOULD know better being a nurse but....

Not much planned for the day. I will be making up a batch of Hare Today turkey for the crew, maybe do a store run (out of coffee!). Since it's a cold rainy day here in the Northeast,  I'll probably spend most of it just doing some cleaning, watching a movie, and posting here.
Have a great day everyone!

A Babble thread?  My kind of thread! I do think we can do 1k posts by the deadline!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day today! I just can't wait for the weekend. Work has been draining! Doesn't help that this cold refuses to go away too.

I'd babble all the time given half the chance so this is purfect:-)

Today I'm feeling bored, sitting in my apartment with rubbish TV in the background.  Thank goodness for TCS.   I have to wait for a phone call or email from my work and all I can do is look out at the lovely blue sky outside. Mouse is snoozing on the back of the sofa after a long play with DaBird and his other new toy - 'Undercover Mouse' . (Felt he was in need of a treat).  I probably wouldn't go out anyway as feel pretty tired but I hate it when I don't have a choice!

I think I'm headed for a nap soon. I don't get home from work until 10:30 pm which means that after checking this site and having kitty snuggle time my bedtime is close to midnight. Since the kids are up shortly after 6am for school I'm shot by Thursday. Have fun posting. I'll check back after my nap. :)

Morning...

Trying to work up enough energy just to hobble to the pharmacy today for important meds.. feels like my whole left hip has been pulled out of joint & put in backwards! Part of the symptoms from illness dealing with right now... No one else in family lives in my area, so I'm on my own. Hubby doesn't drive cuz of his own health issues.
But I have to find a way regardless... Lots of people sick right now. Anyone get a flu shot yet? My sis works in hospital so was mandatory. Just like last time, she got extremely ill in first 72 hours. Bout killed me the time I had one, too. Just don't think they're all that safe, or benefits outweighs risks.... IMHO.
Beautiful weather we're having in Cleveland right now, tho!

This is a neat idea, so here we go :) Good morning to everyone! I hope everything is well.

Going to my first ever wedding this weekend, my cousins! Never been to one before, so it will be neat for me. Will be travelling by train. Then after that once I return home, Thanksgiving <3

Oh man, I am SOOOO bored!  Thank goodness it's now after 5 pm here and I can finally switch off my work phone and stop checking my work emails.  Will I go out?  Probably not, but at least my time is now my own or to be more accurate my time is now Mouse's.  He is looking to play again after a very long snooze on the back of the sofa and munching on a few biscuits.   I think I may need to get a cup of tea first:-)

Enjoy the wedding Cassiopea.  I haven't been to one for years but the last one was great fun.

It's almost 1pm, cats just had lunch, and I did actually get to the store, but have not yet made up a batch of the turkey for them, now I'm too tired.
My sleep pattern is whacked cause I work night shift, and even when I have a few nights off, I still sleep like I would if I had just worked. So....... now I'll sleep until late evening and probably be up all night again.

Cassiopea have a great time at the wedding, they are always a blast!

Ok off to put something on to go to sleep by (TV) I can't sleep without something droning in the background! Have a good day all!

I find it easier to sleep with noise on too: usually 'listen to' unabridged book CDs that I play time and time again so I can switch off.  It has to be a voice I like though.  Mostly it's Harry Potter books read by Stephen Fry but also have a few of the Talking Heads monologues read by Alan Bennett.  Don't find the tv works so well due to the flickering light, plus if it's not a programme I've seen before I'll end up paying attention.

It's funny reading everyone's posts and time of day in this, it really emphasizes the different time zones for some reason.  I've just finished my evening meal and contemplating what to do next.  Playing DaBird and doing a load of laundry has not inspired me and I am in need of activity or I'll end up 'grazing' until I go to bed.

I'm relaxing on the couch while my 2 kids are napping. Of course I now have 5 cats trying to sit on me. All but one kitty avoid the kids like the plague. Got reruns of greys anatomy on mute with closed captions on. Gee I'm pretty lame.

It is so frustrating when the answers for the practice questions directly contradict the information in our textbook! And the professors wonder why we get confused. On a good note the potatoes in my crockpot smell awesome. I love my crockpot these days. Just put stuff in and forget it. And the wonderful aroma that permeates the house...so yummy!

I'd babble all the time too haha. Is mouse still going bonkers over DaBird? I'm not sure I want to buy it for Ziggy. She was bouncing off the walls this morning! She was literally using the wall to jump off it. Like some sort of ninja cat. She kept pouncing on me this morning. I wanted to sleep in since I have a day off school and she wasn't having any of it. she was bouncing off the wall to pounce on my head and then run around my bed in circles. Maybe in a failed attempt to create some sort of vortex into another dimension?
So now I'm finally awake after numerous fails of trying to ignore her
So Ziggy and I are watching old reruns of Dr.Who while she has her makeshift "cat cereal" And I munch on banana nut bread I made last night. I want noting to do today but lounge about.

I think there's maybe  of us from the UK now but poor old Mani seems to be on her own over in Australia:-(

How did I manage to miss the fact that it's national potato week?  Now I'm going to have to go and get some for tomorrow so I don't feel guilty for not supporting the humble potato.   Would crisps count?   Or, chips (haven't had chips for years, I can feel a chip shop visit coming on)...?

I'm looking forward to Project Runway tonight.  It's one of my favorite shows.  I only started watching it a few years ago, and would like to buy the seasons I missed on DVD.

:woo: Project Runway! Who do you think is going to win?

I'm tired. :thud: Been busy and haven't been on here much the past few days.

Can you believe I had $75 in Kohls cash to spend today and I had a hard time spending it? That never happens.
