I'm a horrible impulse buyer. Anyone else do this?

Things I impulse buy are:

  1. Makeup and makeup related items
(just today I bought an $80 Inglot train case)
  2. Cat food
  3. Cat toys
  4. Gifts for my fiancé for no occasion
  5. Home decor stuff

I'm not in debt because of it or anything, but I sometimes wonder why I just don't wait! :lol3:

I made an impulse purchase today. Gift cards. I like to give cards with cats on them. If I see them I buy them. I also fall into the trap of online shopping for clothes. It's so easy with paypal, you don't even need to get your credit card out. ;)

Whenever I venture to our local mall for lunch, I MUST visit a shop called "Claire's Boutique" just to...uh, look. Somethin about bling- gotta check it out & see if anything is calling my name! Never can have too many earrings, bracelets, or rings... belts, you get the idea! Other than that, I may stop on the way home just for a bag of donuts- l need like a hole in the head, but hey, once in awhile ya gotta live! :D

I also like going to the mall for lunch. I'm trying not to buy or I can't stop

I am definitely not an impulse buyer. I always wait. Days later if I can't forget about what I saw and liked, I might go back to buy it. You guessed it. I lose out sometimes by doing that. Then I comfort myself by saying I must not have needed it anyway.:lol3:

Archie Comics...and nail polish. Oh my goodness, the nail polish. Especially if I see a color I don't have with a sale sign.

Cookbooks.....I swear they call me! I've been doing very well this year, though, as I only bought 8 new cookbooks (and most of those were when we were at the Taste of Home store when we were in Wisconsin). I still have one cookbook coming this year and that's America's Test Kitchen's TV cookbook with all of the recipes from all the seasons. I ordered it too late to get last year's book, so they said they'd ship out the 2014 book in October. I've been looking forward to that as they also send out all the episodes from the season on DVDs.

I'll grab a bottle of nail polish if it's a color I don't have and it's on sale. Nail polish is a guilty pleasure for me. I don't wear a lot of make-up or anything like that, but I love to have my nails polished. I do it myself (any smudges are courtesy of Mollipop
), so it's not like a spend a lot of money on professional manicures or the like.

Earrings. I usually wait until something goes on sale, particularly, if it's something expensive. I can't wear cheaper earrings because they'll irritate my ears.

Shoes, especially boots. Love the boots.

Funny you should mention Archie comics, LuvMyParker.....I've been a Fantastic Four fan forever. The earliest comic I have from the original FF is #4. We go to comic book conventions from time to time, but boy those early comics are expensive. They're not really an impulse purchase as I have to plan for them.

Books!  I've got a stack of about 10 of them I haven't got to yet because every time I see one that looks interesting I HAVE to buy it.  Hubby steers me away from book stores--he says it's like inviting an alcoholic to a bar!

Comfy clothes.  If I find a shirt or shorts(ALWAYS hot) I like I will go back and get many many more if cheap.  I do not like certain colors and really prefer dark colors so I own a few of the same exact shirts and shorts.  I always wonder if neighbors think I do not change for week straight...but I am comfy so it is worth it!  Last shirts were $2 each and got 6.

I try not to be an impulse buyer --- but for it would be earrings. I've really been on a kick with them lately. Also - lipstick and nail polish!

I've been getting a lot of bargain things at Sears lately --- inexpensive tops and cotton denim shorts, which will be perfect for our upcoming cruise.

I try not to be an impulsive buyer, but it's not easy!

My most recent impulse buy was my saltwater tank and supplies needed. Granted, I did think about having the tank for a long time.. but I could've waited. Didn't want to.

I do buy Archie Comics too (and I am a tad too old to be reading them.. classics though!). I don't buy them all the time, but I like to read them while having a good soak.

I'm a disaster. I like shopping. As long as I know I have some money things will catch my eye.
Only ever spend what I can afford though.

1. I'm a nail polish addict and after years of researching the longest wearing, glossiest ones, if I see one in a 'me' colour it is so hard to walk past!

2. Boots, well when can a woman have enough?

3. Clothes are a bad one. You can't really live without them and when you put on and loose weight regularly you have to have a wardrobe to cover all....

4. Cat toys?  If it's got feathers on it and I think Mouse will like it I'll probably buy one.  (Not for a while now though as just got him DaBird)

5. Arts and crafts things if there's something I'm enjoying doing at the time - I will look at new materials and find myself buying stuff to play with. Last week was stuff for sketching and painting.

6. And books just leap out at me from shop shelves. I can't stop them.  I try to stay away from book stores but if I go in it's second hand book shops to keep the costs down.  I like the paper variety which is just as well coz I'm told ebooks are way too easy to buy.

Believe it or not I do budget!

Books. Betsygee. You have only ten you haven't read yet? I've got about 60 and it doesn't get any less as I keep buying more.
Perfumes. I won't have to buy anymore until I go through those pearly gates.
Face creams, serums, eye creams, neck creams and more. I haven't used them this summer as I 'perspire' so much. It pours down my face. So embarrassing. I've managed to stop buying all that. So it's books and online!!!!!

Oh oh. I was very overdrawn on my account but as I worked in a bank I was allowed but it sort of became ridiculous. The clerks who dealt with my account threatened to take my visa away. Well I'm not in debit now yay.

If I go in Dollar Tree for just a couple items,I end up spending more than 20.00. Stuff  for the grand kids. Now I will go and pick up candy for Halloween from here cause it's cheap.I don't hand out candy just to them.

I will buy 3 body washes at one time. I'm over loaded now.

Do you mean this store Claire's? http://www.claires.com/  I used to be the assistant manager of one a few years ago until it closed down. My house looked like a Claire's showroom, I had to wear it to work.

I used to be really bad for impulse buying. I've been controlling myself better lately because I don't have the money to spend since I am not working. It is really hard to stop myself from buying clothes and shoes for my daughter.  Baby clothes are just so cute.

I have a weakness for fine jewelry. I have the perfect excuse: I can only wear gold or silver.  EBay is my nemesis! However, I don't spend much money on stuff for myself otherwise, like vacations, clothing, makeup, etc.--just household bills and a car payment--and I make sure savings come out of my pay first.

Archie Comics.
LOL Me too!!!  Though I've been resisting for the last few months.  I've been spending a lot on cake decorating stuff.  So I had to cut back somewhere.

My impulse buys these days involve cake decorating. I recently bought some sugar molds, ingredients to make gum paste, and want to go to Walmart and look for a better storage "thing" for all of my supplies so that I can keep them in one place, and nicely hidden from view.
