Hi guys,

My cat gave birth 3 weeks 2 days ago, I was convinced the 2 adorable kittens were both boys but on checking them today they look like little girls lol...help.... It doesn't really matter either way as we are keeping them both. Mum escaped and mated and is already booked in for spaying when bubba's go for first jabs at 9 weeks... If I put pictures up would anyone be able to help sex them or should I wait till they're a little older x

This is the age when it's hardest to tell (newborn and 6 weeks+ are when it's easiest), but yes, do post pics! With everybody looking we should be able to get some decent guesses :D.

Don't let mum out before she is spayed, cats often get pregnant again when feeding kittens.  As you have discovered a cat in call (heat) will go to quite some lengths to get out and find a mate.

Oh don't worry Crystal is going nowhere lol. No more kittens for us I couldn't cope again with her being a grump for 9 weeks then once in labour she insisted I sat on the floor next to her for about 8 hours (which being disabled was not easy), Plus I would not want to ever add to the population of poor babies and adults wanting homes, luckily with her only having 2 we can keep them

Honestly I've had so many litters in my apartment due to fostering and I can never tell at all until like 8 weeks so I'm not going to be able to be of any help :/ Several of mine have been sexed by the shelter (or by me) only to later turn out to be the opposite. If it's not important to you I'd just wait it out a few more weeks till when it can be clearer.
