The first thing I'd do is keep her inside even if she whines at the door so she doesn't have her kittens outside where they might not be found.

Here are some links on how to tell if your cat is pregnant and what you might expect:

http://www.catsofaustralia.com/pregnant-cat.htm

http://www.cat-world.com.au/pregnancy-in-cats

http://www.kittenrescue.org/index.php/cat-care/kitten-care-handbook/

If she turns out not to be pregnant I'd get her fixed fast so it doesn't happen in the future, if she is pregnant I'd get her fixed as soon as the vet thinks it can be safely done after the kittens are born. Please keep us updated! :)

If not spayed, and allowed to go outside, she will be pregnant.  EVEN if she is somewhat less fertile than many others, as it seems she is.    Either less fertile, or she got a spontan abortion.  which isnt healthy nor riskfree...

So, if you dont spay her, you will always have this SOS  anxousness.

It is just if she is totally sterile, she is safe...

You want tips for how to find cheap spaying clinics??

cheap  spaying:
If you are in the U.S. ,  the ASPCA has an online database.  http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/spayneuter

Or here is a hotline number that will find you a low cost clinic in your area  1-800-248-7729

Also

www.spayusa.org

Good luck!
