Hi All,

Can someone please help? My new rescue, a small and skinny male cat named 'Twig', is vomiting up roundworms and I just treated him a few days ago for roundworms. Is this normal? I know I need to treat him again in about a week and a half and I intend to do so, but is it even going to work since he is puking up the worms? The worm was about 3 inches long and was not moving when I found it and there was not anything else in the puke. Any advice will be greatly appreciated and if you have any questions or need further details, please let me know and I will do my best.

Thanks!

Pauline

Yes, this is normal, you may also see dead worms in his stool. It does take a few days for the medication to work. The repeat dosing is to kill the rest that may hatch from eggs.

Hi Katluver4life,

Thank you for your prompt response and I thought that was normal, but wanted to hear it from someone else who cares in order to ease my mind. I appreciate your feedback here! Do you think I should repeat the dose 2 more times instead of just 1 in order to be sure? I also like your quote/passage that is at the end of your post above! That is so sweet and true!

Cheers,

Pauline

Most welcome
and thank you!

After his last dose his stool will need to be rechecked. That is what will determine if he needs more doses.
