HELP! We put a collar on my kitten 2 days ago and it wasnt tight at all! We woke up this morning to his neck sore and missing hair picture it attached. Is this something that we can keep clean at home and it will heal or should we take him to the vet in the morning?

I can't see the picture :(. But generally, for abrasions, just keep it clean and dry and it should heal up fine. If it started to look angry red and weeping pus, he would need to go to the vet. If it's a deep gash, you should take him to the vet for antibiotics and maybe stitches.

Yeah I'd definitely call the vet for that. It's going to need cleaned and probably antibiotics. Don't wait. Call first thing in the morning.

I don't know...vets in different parts of the country charge vastly different rates. I'd guess about $75 but that could be high or low. You can ask the vet before he does anything, though. But this is not optional. That can get infected really easily and a kitten can die from an infection pretty quickly. If you wait, it will be MUCH more expensive and you might lose him.

nope just a simple small collar from target with a little bell. Im not sure how a collar like that would do that to his neck. but i did see a lot of forums where cats necks got to this point from flea collars.

This is bad - take your cat to a Vet.  IT LOOKS LIKE A BITE FROM ANOTHER ANIMAL TO ME.

I agree it looks like a puncture wound from another cat and they tend to get infected very quickly.
