These are my boys, Trevor and Burlington. I posted here long, long ago when I rescued Trevor's litter from the garbage, but it was so long ago I couldn't remember any of my login info. Trevor is 7 years old, a big, happy, healthy boy at 18 pounds. He's not really fat (just a little, he's kinda lazy!) but a really big boy. He's got a lot of the characteristics of a Maine Coon, the facial structure, and definitely the personality. He's been my best buddy since he was a tiny little guy, and has been with me through the very worst time of my life, and now into some of the best times ever.

And Burlington is my new baby, I just adopted him yesterday from the animal shelter. He was a stray, although obviously at one time he was someone's pet, due to him being neutered and declawed (I hate declawing, for the record, and his poor little paws make me sad to think of him going through that awful surgery). He wasn't handling being at the shelter very well, and right now he's a shell of his pictures taken when they got him in. His coat looks pretty bad, he's matted and I'm working on grooming him. He also has a URI (which I KNOW, I know, he could give it to Trevor, but Trevor is strong and healthy, and I will get him on meds at the first sign of a sniffle if he gets it) which was probably not helped by all the stress he was under. They gave me the rest of his Clavamox pills (had 6 days worth left). Even without reading his description, and seeing his healthy looking pics, I just felt like he needed me. So I went and met him and put the application in, and I told him "I will be back for you tomorrow." They called me yesterday as I was leaving work to tell me I could have him, and I went straight over to get him. He sat up and looked at me as soon as I walked in (they were keeping him in the office because being in the main cat room was stressing him out) and the look on his face said "You came back for me!" So now my focus is getting him back to full health, and gaining weight. Poor guy is pretty skinny, he probably needs to gain about 5 pounds. I'm pretty sure he is a purebred Maine Coon, he's got the size, physical features, and the amazing long fluffy tail. I imagine he'll top 20 pounds once he's healthy, he's longer and taller than Trevor. I posted on the health board about his strange eye. whatever the outcome of that, he's staying here. This boy needs me!

This is the best picture I have of him so far, you can tell he doesn't feel very good. But he's calm and confident and quickly inspected the entire house, basement to upstairs!

It's wonderful you could take Burlington in... I'm really looking forward to hearing how he's going.

Hi, welcome to TCS!  Trevor reminds me so much of my sweet kitty Paws, who crossed the Bridge years ago.  He's gorgeous.  And I think Burlington was meant to be with you.
