Advice is needed.

Okay, I know that we really can't control HOW somebody raises their cats. (I believe they belong outside as they are naturally hunters and everything. Plus, though I have two kitties, I CANNOT stand them under my feet. Don't worry, they are both fixed and up to date with shots!)

​Anyway, all that said, there's something bugging me; my friend (not naming names) is a stoner. They live somewhere  where it's legal and everything. (I could go on for the next century about how I hate drugs, but this is neither the time nor place and I cannot control people's lives.) So, I don't think my friend is in the right state of mind to care for their two cats. But, hey, they're doing really well and are happy. But, a little while ago, I got an invite to a video they posted about their cats and it showed that the cats appeared to be stoned. I thought 'catnip' at first, but then my friend said they had put pot into their water. (my friends, NOT the cats dish!) I am guessing the cats drank from it or something.

I am really upset over this, but I live in another part of the world so I cannot do much. I know that this is wrong so what CAN I do? I know the cats are in danger.

If it were me, I would make an anonymous call to a local animal rescue AND the local police to report the drug abuse and animal abuse. I would continue to call every day until something is done. If you live in another country, buy a calling card to make these calls. Save the video if you can or re-record it by videoing the video on your phone, especially if it clearly shows the cats staggering and what not.

I hate drugs as well, but I am under the impression that water "ruins" pot so it doesn't give the "high" effect. However, a lot of people who smoke pot will blow the smoke in an animal's face, which WILL make them appear to be high.

Maybe I should do that! Like I said in my first post, pot is legal where they are, so they cant get into trouble for having it. Thing is, this friend treats their cats like GOLD. So, to me, if they DID give their cats something, I'd be shocked beyond belief! Yeah, I live over 2000 miles from this friend! So, calling cards are needed! The cats weren't staggering, more like all...'wonked'  like from catnip. (A cute sight, really.)  Also, I checked today, and the video was removed; I am assuming in the 10 seconds my friend ISN'T stoned they realized what had happened and took the cats to get help. Like I said above, my friend LOVES their cats. (I mean, paying $50 each when they adopted them from a shelter.) So, I will hound my friend until they tell me what happened and keep you posted.

So we agree on that, then? YAY! Well, my friend grows it, so I wouldn't know if it was altered in any way. I can't see my friend blowing the smoke in the cats faces. Mine, maybe because I am human and have would rather a big, slobbering dog (trying to get a pitbull or German Sheppard) over a cat. (But, as the name says, I have 2 cats and I love them like children.) But, you never know, right? 

Anyway, hopefully the cats are okay today. I'll keep you posted.
