WE are going away for the weekend, but not too, too far from home. This makes me wonder though:

What's the furthest from home you've been?

For me it is Ireland.

Since I don't fly, I'd have to say either northwestern Minnesota or Florida.

If I ever do make it on a plane, it will be to Ireland.

Since I'm in Australia,  the furthest would the the UK.

I think that's about as far as you can get from Aus... unless I went to Iceland, Greenland or the North Pole!

Durban, South Africa, which according to this site is 16313 kms away from Calgary. Was a very long flight (or 2 or 3) indeed!

I live on the East Coast, USA. I spend two and a half years on the west coast when I was a teenager.

I love to travel and have been lucky enough to see a few places--the furthest I've been is Peru and Fiji.  So I looked it up online to see which was further away from me on the coast of California--Fiji it is, by about a thousand miles.

Sigh. I'd love to travel. Everyone has been to such cool places, I'm jealous! I'm on the east coast of the US and have never left the continental US. I've been as south as Savannah, Georgia, and as west as Mt Shasta, California.

Visited Italy and Spain back in the 80's.  It was a group trip with co-workers and I loved it.  Got to see the Pope too.

It depends on the definition of home. From the U.S., it would be eastern Europe. From Germany, it would be the Rockies, I guess.

I've been to Europe a few times, all different destinations: Paris, Amsterdam, U.K. (London and N. Ireland), and also drove from Rotterdam to Switzerland once, and then took a train from northern to southern Italy (stopped in Florence and Rome for a while).
