Hi there! I would like to introduce Maggie and Bella. They are 6 minths old and we've had them a month. They are VERY sweet and VERY loving. Have not introduced them to our three dogs yet...

Very good intuition! Do you have any advice regarding Maggie and Bella?

Getting ready to introduce them to the rest of our house soon. Any advice as to what types of breakable objects I need to remove temporarily?

Hi there welcome along to TCS, you have two vry pretty girls there! :D

I wouldn't be removing anything, it becomes something for them to explore if it turns up later on.  Means they get used to what you have at home straight away.

The main thing I do for kittens is hide/reroute wires so they are not tempted to chew. If you can't remove said wire squeeze a little big of lemon juice on a rag, and then coat the wire with lemon juice. Cats hate citrus so they will leave them alone.

Make sure you set rules with them right away. Kittens need structure. If they do something undesirable, give a firm NO. Also be sure to praise them when they do good things, ie use the litter box, play with toys, etc. This is positive reinforcement. Pet owners (myself included) tend to only speak up regarding negative things. This is confusing to young kittens as sometimes they aren't sure what they did wrong. If they are used to being told how good they are and then suddenly an action displeases you, they take note.

Remember rambunctious kittens need to expell their energy so string toys and laser pointers are your friend.

...and when they are bad (which they will be :) ), never punish them. It only confuses them. No squirting, spanking, time out, etc. Just a firm NO.

Follow these rules and they will grow up to be well adjusted adult cats with healthy boundaries.

I would also just search "kitten proofing" in the TCS search box, and you should find lots of good info there.
