My cat Mavis just turned one year old and just went through her first heat and got pregnant before I could get her fixed.
She weights 6 pounds is very very petite and naturally long and skinny.
She has been spotting for a week now. We think she is near her time to have the babies.
Today I looked at her lady part and there was lil blood. She has been trying to nest but only where I am located at. Pacing. Angry with everyone but me.
I checked her nips they are not pecking a lot of milk only very very lil.
Does the bleeding mean she will have the babies soon?
Is the bleeding bad?
Is she too small?
What other signs can you give me?

I personally am 7 months pregnant and this worrying is just causing so much anxiety. I view she as my baby girl but dot have experience in birthing! Any help I can get is love and be grateful for!!

Hello and welcome to TCS.

I am asking a moderator to move this to pregnant cats & kitten care so that you may get a response. I myself am not experienced in this area.

6 pound isnt not too little, esp as many females are quite petite, and usually manage anyway.

The bleeding may be troubling.  Some red coloured discharge is common, but blood is less common.  So it depends on if it is real blood blood, and how much, to be anxious and contact your vet, or just to be observant.

If you do have a vet handy, it may be wise to phone and ask... Vet knows what follow  up questions to give.

Many moms get their milk very late, even first when the kittens are born, so no milk or not nesting for real, is not much as signs...

But yes, it sounds as she has contractions.  If it is some precontractions, or beginning of labor for real, is more difficult to know.

Here are some links on this matter:

http://www.icatcare.org/advice/my-cat-having-kittens    ( This is a link to a group of articles on cat pregnancy, birth and kittens.   Read the ones on normal cat birth and on " when to wait and when to worry"  )

Continue with reports and questions!

Good luck!

Don't let her out until she is spayed.  You can't risk her having the kittens outside, or having an accident and leaving you with tiny kittens to hand raise.  She will also get pregnant again - nursing kittens doesn't stop that happening.  If you know when she called add 65 days and that will give an approximate due date.

Try to make sure her kittens are neutered by 6 months old, earlier if at all possible.
