Hi there, just wanted to introduce myself! My full time job is working with cats and dogs (but mostly cats 'cause they're obviously better) at my local humane society. I joined this site to learn more about all things cat and also to share some of the things I've learned along the way as well.

I have 4 cats and a dog, along with foster kittens from work. I'll post their pictures and try to tell their stories as briefly as I can, but I tend to ramble when it comes to my kiddos :)

This is my only male cat, Momo. He is my favorite, just a big squishy love bug. I totally prefer male cats, yet somehow I ended up with 3 girls... Momo came to me, along with his sister Mona, from my sister about 5 years ago. She adopted them from a shelter as kittens, after her husband said he was willing to give cats a chance (he doesn't like cats). Well, kittens being kittens, they ended up driving him so crazy that he made her get rid of them, so she turned to me.

Here is Momo, the tabby, and Mona, mostly black. Mona is kind of elusive and hard to photograph, so excuse the awful picture. She is my problem child, very insecure, nervous, high strung princess.

My third cat, Harley, came to me a couple years ago. I was visiting a friend's house and she walked right up to us off the street. I thought she was so beautiful but I could tell she wasn't being taken care of, her coat was dirty and thin, she was ravenous and looking very desperate. Something told me she needed help, so I brought her home. She turned out to be pregnant, barely a year old but otherwise okay. So I got her spayed and vaccinated and then watched her go from a mangy alley cat to a beautiful fine feline. She is so independent and saucy!

My most recent kitty is my dear little Poops McCoy. Officially her name is Vega, but we never call her that. Poops is what we like to call a "foster failure" at work. She was brought to the shelter at about 4 weeks old, emaciated, eyes glued shut with pus, covered in poop and leaking out of her butt (hence the name Poops, lol). I took her home with me that very same day and worked my butt off to try and bring her up to speed. It was a rough journey and at one point we considered humane euthanasia, but she told me she wasn't ready to give up, so we pushed on and now she is a big, fat and beautiful girl, about 6 months old. I named her Vega after the brightest star in the summer sky, as she was the most critical-need foster I took this summer that survived.

This is her about a week after I first took her home, still so small and sad enough to fit in a Kleenex box. She actually climbed in there on her own.

And here she is a couple weeks ago on her cat tree! Spoiled rotten.

And those are my fur-children! If you took the time to read my lengthy intro, thanks, and I hope everyone enjoys the pictures. I have a thousand more pictures of all my foster kittens and amazing cats from work, so if there's a good thread to post stuff like that feel free to point me in the right direction, I would love to share!
