Hi everyone, I'm new to this website and decided to join looking to see if anyone has any experiences with what is currently occurring in my cat.

Rosie is a 17 year old Calico. I have had her since I was a little girl and love her more than I can possibility express. Every memory I have includes her.

Today I brought Rosie to the vet because I was concerned she had a hair ball stuck in her trachea because she has been wheezing, coughing and spitting up mucus. Turns out my poor girl has a tumor on her heart, basically the same size as her heart. It has been pushing up on her trachea, causing her to have the described side effects. From what I've read, heart tumors in cats are VERY rare..about 0.0275%. Unfortunately my baby is one of those unlucky ones.. The vet seemed pretty adamant that nothing could be done because it's too far along and she doesn't have much time left..

If anyone has any experience with this I would greatly appreciate any tips for keeping her comfortable, and possibly home remedies..

Thanks from myself and Rosie.

Wow!  I'm really sorry to read about the diagnosis on your precious girl, but I'm glad you found us.  I have no experience with anything like that, but I hope someone will be along soon that is a bit more knowledgeable.

Thanks for your sympathies. I hope there is someone who has experienced something similar because I'm having a really hard time finding anything online since it is so rare.

My dear Grey (RIP) didn't have a tumor of the heart, instead she had a thymoma that took up almost half of her chest cavity. I did things like make sure she had a step of sorts so she could get on my bed, as well as an extra litter box and water so she didn't have to walk too far. She lived another 2 years until her kidneys failed.

I'm sorry about Rosie's diagnosis.
