our cat has this lesion on his back that is very raw, and is getting larger. His hair is falling out and he looks to be is some pain, while he does not talk, his eyes tell me and he walks different since this is on his lower back, it is so raw it looks like a brain.  the vet has given me no specific answer as to what it is and put him on  - cream-Quadritop ointment and - drops-Clindacure clindamycin hydrochloride liquid

He is about 18 years old, getting very thin, but eats non stop, what ever we give him and begs for more.  He is also begining to lose control of going to the bathroom, just does it where he is standing at times and some times in the litter.  He was an outdoor cat for years but now just stays where ever we are in or out side.  Is my vet doing good?   help  - we do not have a large budget

I am so sorry that you and your cat are going through this. Were any blood tests done? Some of the symptoms fit hyperthyroidism which is treatable with medication. Also, if he is in pain, a pain medication like buprenex (not metacam/meloxicam) may help him feel better. I am glad he is staying with you. Please do not let him out on his own or he may disappear, and you will never know what happened. Cats in pain do tend to hide.
