Nursing Cat Losing Weight!

So about 10 weeks ago I found a stray cat, and she turned out to be pregnant. She was a bit underweight when I found her, but otherwise seemed healthy (had the vet look at her and she tested negative for FELV/FIV). Well now the kittens are just over 4 weeks (5 kittens, all healthy and fat!) and Missy cat has lost so much weight! She had put on a bit of weight before she had the kittens, but after she had them she started to lose it again. When I noticed she was losi g weight I decided to put her on a higher calorie food (I had her on Chicken Soup for the Kitten Lover's Soul, and switched to Nutrisource Pure Vita Chicken Entree). She is free fed dry food and gets 3/4-1 can (5.5oz) of Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul wet food per day. She eats plenty of food and is producing lots of milk, but her spine and hip bones stick out, and she has a very pronounced waist. I don't know what to do! Does anyone have any idea of what I can do to help her put on weight?
Also I have started weaning the kittens, they get 2 meals of the wet food mushed up with a bit of water and some kitten milk every day.
Any help is appreciated!

If salomonella in eggs is no problem at your place (or you can handle the problem) raw egg yolk with her wet food, or together with kmr/goat milk / minced meat, is very nourishing!

As fluid, I would suggets kmr or goat milk, or even yoghurt, instead of common water.

Somewhat diluted perhaps, but still.

The kittens beginning to get their own food will also help some.

btw, I suppose she got dewormed properly?  Probably twice?

Good luck!

It's normal for nursing mom's to lose weight, just keep feeding her well and try to up the amount the kittens are getting from you. The egg idea is a good one, you might try to entice her with some high calorie treats.

I will try the egg yolk idea, thanks :-) Although I'm not sure what you meant by "As fluid, I would suggets kmr or goat milk, or even yoghurt, instead of common water." I don't put any water in her food, I put some in the kittens' food with some milk replacer just to dilute it because I didn't want to give them something too rich and make their tummies upset, but everyday I reduce the amount of water I put in their food, and soon it will just be canned food mixed with milk replacer. I have also been adding some milk replacer to the mom cat's food(~2 Tbs. per day). I know nursing moms often lose weight, but she was kind of skinny to begin with and she has lost a lot of weight, she is very thin now.
I'm also wondering if switching from a food with grain to a grain free food might be part of the problem?

And yes, I just dewormed her and the kittens with pyrantel a few days ago, and she got dewormed before she had them. I will deworm them all again in a couple weeks. She also got revolution flea treatment a couple weeks ago

If she gets Revolution Im not sure she needs also pyrantel.

As revolution takes both outer parasites and also round worms.

It shouldn give problems mixing, so its not dangerous until grossly overdosed, there is leeway in both of them, but as I understand it, not necessary as both takes roundworms.

I know about the revolution, I don't usually use revolution but I got some free from work. I usually use frontline or advantage

I figured it wouldn't hurt her to use both (especially since I used them a couple weeks apart) and I wanted to deworm everyone on the same day so it would be easier to remember
