Good day all. Just got off the phone with a nutty client. Had a worthless 3 hour meeting this morning - I couldn't even nap as I was in the front of the room. I am looking forward to a 3 day weekend. I love Thanksgiving. I have been off work the last 2 days with a massive earache - part infection and part tendon swelling around the area. I am on anti-inflams. The doctor made me get a flu shot so now my arm is hurting. The are really stressing the importance of flu shots because if you exhibit SARS like symptoms you could be stuck in isolation! Heck, as long as they kept me supplied with books, I might just like isolation! I am looking forward to Survivor and CSI tonight. I wonder what Rupert will be upto toningt. The promos show that Osten has some difficulty in the water. (weenie).

How is everyone else today?

Hope you start feeling better Ady!

Is this week over yet???? Fiscal year end was September 30, and my supervisor, also the accountant, has been on a rampage all week! I know it's just because she is super busy, and has been for 3 weeks, but it's getting old really fast.

I am becoming an expert of Blackjack, Roulette and Craps.
Our company Christmas Party this year is a Vegas Night and the owners are going to be the dealers. Well, none of them have done it before so someone has to put together the rules and stuff and be able to teach them. So that's me! LOL Luckily I already know the basics of Blackjack and Roulette, so I really just have to learn Craps - only one of the most complicated gambling games around.

But overall this week hasn't been too bad.

I forgot to mention that I got a higher pay raise then I thought with my new position. I thought it was only $800/year difference to start (based on the fact that I was at the top of my pay level going into the bottom of this pay group). But they have to make sure that you are increased by a certain percentage and $800 was not enough. The have popped me into the 2nd paylevel of this new job which starts at $2500 more per year. That is so exciting.

Just can't seem to get motivated today....blah. Need to clean house, but I DON'T WANNA! waaaaahhhh!

Heard that Ivan is doing well in his new home so far...his favorite toy is the paper bag I sent all his toys & stuff in!
I sent a book on kitten care, a bag & cans of food, lots of toys, etc. with him. They said he likes to play with his water bowl. He had a little tiny kitten-sized water bowl here, and I think they gave him a big one. They said he'll bump the water bowl, stare at the ripples and RUN away, then turn around and come back, stare at the water, bump it so it makes ripples, then run away again, etc.
They really love him.
They're having a lot of fun with him.

Well the weather up here is nuts to say the least. Today it's a beautiul balmy 72 and still rising tomorrow the weather is supposed be even warmer then today. I think we're getting a Harvest Fall, not sure.

The housework was done early in the morning today and I woke up to a clean house with no toilet paper strewn all over the place. That made the dusting and vaccumming much easier to do. The dirty dishes are in the dish washer and ready to go after tonights dinner.

The menu for Thanksgiving is totally planned and ready for cooking. Even though it's always just the 2 of us we always have the full turkey dinner. I'm just wondering if Aragorn and Legolas are going to let us eat in peace. Only time will tell.

Being retired I don't have much to say about working so I'll leave that to the rest of you. Ady, WTG on the bigger pay raise of which you weren't expecting!

April is this the first time you've made a turkey dinner with the kittens? We get "turkey vultures" when I roast a turkey.
The first year we had the kittens and I made a turkey they went NUTS all morning smelling that thing cooking! They ran around meowing trying to find whatever it was that smelled so good. When I opened the oven to do the first temperature test, Trent tried to climb INTO the oven to get to that heavenly smell!!
Mommy about flipped!

That's wonderful Ady! Way to Go Girl!

I just put my day happenings in my thread about my last day at work. Just a quick recap though, I had a luncheon for my last day. It was wonderful! Got lots of gifts & it was great to see everyone for the last time. It was sad, but I'm excited to start a new chapter in my life.

Hope all is well with everyone! Have a great day!

Heidi, this is going to be the first Thanksgiving the kittens have seen. If this is what happened to you and your kittens then I'm already beginning to dread what I'm going to do about putting up a Christmas tree!

ahhhh, the Christmas tree.
No tinsel, and definitely no glass ornaments! Sturdy base, too. I used to have a mini tree decorated with little red wooden apples - needless to say, the crew thought it was a fantastic toy! I found several of those little apples under the stove when I moved out of the apartment.

Hey, that would be a great idea for a Cat Site winter article - 'cat-safe Christmas decor'!

Oh, Ady, Im so happy for you about the raise! And I hope your ears feel better soon. An Ear infection can be so very annoying, and painful.
I had a not-so-good day today... I went to the doctor to see what can be done about my in-growing toe, and he took half of it out... now Im on pain killers, with my legs up most of the time. But you know what? Im glad I finally found the courage to go get it over with! I couldn't even put tennis shoes on, it was so paiful!

And my kitties seem in a very happy mood today! Im wondering... what are they upto, those kitties?...

My husband had that done on his toes years ago & hasn't had a problem since.
Hope it feels better soon.

Cats can tell if you aren't feeling well - they're probably trying to comfort you. Purrs can heal.
When you're better, they'll find lots of ways to make up for lost time!

Nunny, Earl had his toes done a couple years ago as well, and he hasn't had any problems with them either. Did they cauterize the root for you so it never grows back? He's much happier now that he doesn't have pain with every step he takes.

Ady, congrats on the raise! That's wonderful!

Tess, I'm so glad to hear Ivan seems to like his new home. He was about the most adorable kitty I've ever seen!

April, good luck keeping the kitties away from the turkey. Any poultry cooking makes Simba go wild.

I had a pretty good day at work, and the weather here is beautiful. We can't usually have all of the windows opened in MN in the middle of October. I should take the puppies for a walk but I'm kind of tired (end of the work week I always am), so I'll probably just hang out on the deck with them for awhile and enjoy the weather.

Simba bit me really hard on the arm last night - I turned over in bed, so I had to move him, which made him MAD (and I had moved him very gently). He bites a lot but not usually hard; that's the first time he's drawn blood. Coincidentally, I had to start a round of antibiotics for something completely unrelated yesterday, so at least his timing was good. And I've got a follow-up with the doc tomorrow, so if it's bad she can check it then.

Of course, right now he's being a total lover, sitting on my lap purring. I am no longer allowed to be involved in any activity that creates a lap without him curling up in it...

Tess, how does one go about starting an article about "Cat Safe Christmas Decor"? I think that would be an excellent idea seeing as there are so many new members and new people who have never had kittens/cats before. Like me! DUH

Movin' on up!
I had a hard time staying awake, today. Don't know why - I slept my normal amount of time. Buddy woke me up, with fuzzy kisses about ten minutes before the alarm was due to go off. We are getting some rain and every joint in my body is either stiff or sore. Poor Bill is achy, too. We both go to bed, smelling like Ben-Gay. That's a turn-on!

Should be busy, tomorrow - people will be calling in to make their car payments and its a full moon.

Speaking of the full moon, Rowdy has been unusually calm, for the past few days. This is definitely NOT normal! She hasn't even teased the dogs. On top of that, she has been playing with cat toys. Is my ornery little girl finally growing up?

Right here! :)
Today I was at my granny´s at the nursing home, for several hours, and and my son was with my, charming the nurses and my relatives. My granny has been very ill, and it´s probably hours, rather than days left of her life. The family has been there at the nursing home, and I´ve tried to be there as much as possible, even if it means that my poor son and I don´t get home untill 10 pm these days. It´s a special thing, and he is so good tempered and patient, he has dinner there, we go home and he sits on his potty and plays a bit (he loves playing while sitting on his potty), and goes to bed. When all this is over, we will get back to the "between 8 and 9" bedtime rutine.
Now I feel so bad about all the time passed without me visiting my granny when she was better, there´s nothing I can do about that now, time flies and time between visits tends to get to long.

Pollýanna still has her bold spots (of course, hair couldn´t grow that fast back), but I think the spreading of the bolding has stopped.
