I had a late nap yesterday and it made for a sleepless night.  It was productive though!

Between back pain, that flu I had in August and the lingering lethargy/fatigue from it, I haven't really gotten a whole lot done since April, But I'm on vacation this past week and next week, so I have been taking it easy and sleeping when I feel like I need to instead of pushing myself.  So I'm feeling somewhat better. I've been puttering around and doing things at my pace  little by little. Last night I had a burst of energy!

What did I accomplish over night?

- took the elements and rings off the stove and scrubbed and scoured the top;

- finished clearing off my kitchen breakfast island and wiped it down;

- washed dishes and put them away

- organized a cupboard so I could have a spot to put away the dish drain tray

- emptied the dishwasher

- dispensed my medications for the next 7 days

- cleared out and dusted the printer tray in my desk. It's too small for my printer. I intended to put my stacking paper trays on it, but it ended up accumulating junk instead.  So now it has my stacking trays

- loaded up a small shopping cart with things that need to go into my spare room. Saves me running back and forth. I can make a single trip

- put away my ziploc plastic containers that I use for freezer meals

- sorted out my cake decorating tool caddy so it's geared towards my current class

- tidied up my portable pantry so that I had room to put away some canned and boxed items that were still in grocery bags from last week

- unpacked my food dehydrator and put in sliced mushrooms and orange slices

And I think that is pretty much it.

Still have some work in the kitchen. I still need to wash down (decrease) the portion of the stove where the dials are, and the backsplash, and wipe down one counter. I also want to give the fronts of my cupboards a wipe down.  Then that is it other than the floor.

I'll leave the inside of the oven and fridge for another day.

Still want to do more? Come visit me!!
Nah. Still have a lot of my own to do,  lol

I have to go to the bank today, go get some groceries and I want to make dinner in my pressure cooker tonight. I found a really nice recipe for Butter Chicken that apparently only takes 40 minutes.

Plus I need to study some French, and make some royal icing flowers for my final cake project on the 30th.  And at some point I need to do a load of laundry.  Although there isn't that much. Being on vacation, I have been living in my PJs,  LOL

You do that, too!

There are times when Rick is gone and I'm alone in the house and can't sleep. I'll cook. Or bake something, usually bread. I don't clean much over night, but I love to cook at that time. It's very relaxing.

You got a lot of stuff done! (That's a neat idea about taking the little shopping cart from room to room. If we didn't have the cats, I've often thought about putting a basket or a nice box on the steps going down to the basement so that I could load it as I go and then, when it's full, take the whole thing to the basement. Instead I make a gazillion trips up and down every day.)

I love my shopping cart.  It's a small one from a local pharmacy.

I found it outside my apartment building several years ago. At that time I was able to walk for longer distances, so I walked it back to the store on my way to get groceries and tried to return it.  They didn't want it!  Apparently they had gone to locking carts that cost you a $1 coin to unlock.  So I happily kept it. I used it for grocery shopping that day and walked my groceries home in it instead of having them delivered.  I used to keep it in my storage room in the basement for when I went grocery shopping. I'd go in the back door with my bags and then grab the cart from the storage and cart them upstairs.  Then for about 10 years they changed the lock and banned us from the storage room unless we got the key from the caretaker which was only allowed during certain periods of the day, one day a week! So I started to keep it in my apartment.   My back has gotten really bad, so now I use it to take out my garbage, cart my laundry down the hall to the laundry room, and move things from room to room to save extra trips.  Really handy.
