Hi All, maybe someone can enlighten us.

"Digger" one of our strays was found in mid May 2013 hiding and wounded, he was in total pain and was scared, couldn't walk fine, limping weak legs, and blood on the side. I managed to catch him and we rushed him to the vet where he got his first aid treatment to the wound.   X-ray showed nothing was broken but suggested  muscular damage. Digger's attitude was back to normal, but he is obviously in pain. The vets cannot determine the cause of his injury.

He is around 6 years old castrated. We've known him since he was a kitten.
He was adopted after his accident and followed physiotherapy with the owners, he is there since June.
Now, since last month there have been some incidents. The first one is that he went out from the house alone and when they tried to lift him he bite the owners and he ran away. he returned home 2 days after.
Described by the owners, Digger is sometimes not on this world. they  have the feeling he doesn´t recognize us. Yesterday we were sitting on the couch together and out of thin air he got´s a strange look and he slap my husband with the paws .  when he moves a little bit Digger does the same again. he stand´s up and walks away.

sometimes he is really afraid and when we come, he run´s  fast away.

if he listens to the noise of a kiss it is a little bit better  (the way I used to call our stray cats in the feeding station

Maybe his vision is not so good either, gets blurry or... . if something lying on the floor he goes there weird and try to feel out with the paws what it is.

We are not sure if he is not happy any more or he is having some kind of post trauma behaviour... some black outs or dementia.
He can be very nice as usual and he likes it to get stroke.with all the other cats it goes very well and they play. and all sleeping together on the cat tree.

If someone had experienced this kind of attitude it will be very nice if you could enlighten us, or tell us your experiences. Thank you very much.

Could he still be in pain?  That would account for him biting the new owners when they tried to pick him up.  Also, it's possible he sustained a head injury when his back legs were injured back in May.  Maybe something like a concussion where there was no external bleeding.  That could result in his strange behavior, possibly.

Sounds like he needs another Vet visit for more analysis.
