Herpes,chlamydia, and mico plasma postive

I just found out, that Yazzey, a year old female that we haven't have for very long is postive with all three of those.

We've tried treating with Erthromycin, that didn't help.

The vet is now going to call in an oral med for her.

I'm concerned about her being around the other cats , and them getting it.

My husband says to put her to sleep. I thought we'd have to rehome her to an only cat house.

Thoughts?

If your other cats are up to date on shots and have been their entire life you should be just fine. Is there a chance she could give it to them? Yes. BUT my cats have ALWAYS had their shots and unknowningly I had an emergency take in with 2 kittens that had distemper. Guess what? NOT a single one of my cats got sick and they were cleaning them. Again, vaccines are the most important thing next fixing a cat you can do.  I would rehome her before I would put her down though. She can live many more years with proper treatment.

We are dealing with the same thing in our 13 yr old male cat, Merlin.  He's been having problems for the last 3 or so yrs and we just can't seem to get it under control.  From what I've been reading L-Lysine is the "magic" solution.  Talk to your vet about it.  We had started him on that and he ate the "treats" easily but he must have caught on that they were good for him and now he won't touch them lol (gotta love it!)  So i'm now looking into different forms of the L-Lysine to give him.

He is just so miserable when he has a flair up (which is usually every 3-4 months) I feel so bad for him.  I'm hoping I can find something that helps supress that nasty virus.
